Housekeeping/Laundry Aide

Position: A full-time position in Housekeeping/Laundry aide

Shift Schedule: Full time Every weekend!

As a Housekeeping/Laundry at Friendly Village Nursing and Rehab, you will play a vital role Housekeeper maintains the cleanliness of the facility for residents, visitors and staff.

Essential Functions:

• Cleans and sanitizes resident rooms, hallways, dining areas, bathrooms and other areas of the facility.
• Safely mixes and uses cleaning solutions and stores in a secure area.
• Labels and removes infectious waste bags and containers.
• Performs other tasks as assigned.
• Conducts job responsibilities in accordance with the standards set out in the Company’s Code of Business Conduct, its policies and procedures, the Corporate Compliance Agreement, applicable federal and state laws, and applicable professional standards.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to read and write at a level appropriate for the job.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, family members and facility staff.
• Knowledge of infection control techniques.
• Ability to be patient and polite.

Working Conditions

• Works in all areas of the facility.
• Moves intermittently during working hours.
• Is subject to frequent interruptions and may need to reschedule cleaning activities.
• Is involved with residents, personnel, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc., under all conditions and circumstances.
• Is subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, personnel, and visitors.
• Communicates with housekeeping personnel and other department personnel.
• Works beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary, as well as in other positions as needed.
• Is subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, and conditions. May be subject to the handling of and exposure to hazardous chemicals.
