Works well with Housekeeping, Front Desk, Maintenance, and other hotel departments
What You'll DoAs a Housekeeping Inspector, you'll help oversee the daily operation of the Housekeeping Department and ensure our guest rooms and hotel spaces consistently meet Reikart House standards.Responsibilities include:Supervise and support Housekeeping Team members throughout the shift
Provide open communication, coaching, training, and performance feedback to team members
Inspect guest rooms to ensure they meet hotel standards for cleanliness, presentation, and readiness
Inspect public areas, back-of-house areas, and other assigned spaces
Identify and communicate areas requiring additional cleaning or attention
Assign rooms and housekeeping duties based on daily operational needs
Review special requests, VIP rooms, stayover requirements, and areas requiring additional attention
Ensure a smooth and efficient flow of the Housekeeping operation
Monitor compliance with hotel Standard Operating Procedures, health and sanitation standards, and safety requirements
Ensure appropriate accident prevention and loss prevention procedures are followed
Distribute supplies and equipment to Housekeeping Team members at the beginning of the shift
Monitor supply usage and help maintain appropriate inventory levels
Assist with controlling departmental expenses and minimizing unnecessary waste
Respond to guest requests, concerns, and housekeeping-related issues in a professional and timely manner
Communicate guest concerns and maintenance issues to the appropriate department
Follow proper Lost and Found procedures, including logging recovered items and responding to inquiries
Assist with emergency procedures and training to help protect guests, employees, the hotel, and company assets
Assist the evening Housekeeping Team with operational needs when necessary, including lobby cleaning, turndown service, and trash removal
Participate in special projects, hotel committees, and task force assignments as needed
Maintain a professional and positive presence throughout the hotel
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
The Ideal Candidate Is:Previous hotel housekeeping experience required or strongly preferred
Previous supervisory, lead, or inspection experience preferred
Strong understanding of hotel housekeeping standards and procedures
Detail-oriented and committed to high standards of cleanliness
Comfortable inspecting work and providing constructive feedback
Confident communicating with both employees and guests
Able to coach and develop team members in a positive and professional manner
Able to prioritize and delegate tasks effectively
Comfortable working independently while also being an active member of the Housekeeping TeamAble to handle guest concerns with professionalism and good judgment
Dependable, organized, and flexible
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Able to work varying schedules, including weekends and holidays as needed
Able to follow written and verbal instructions
Comfortable using hotel systems, checklists, and other operational tools
No formal degree required; relevant hotel or housekeeping experience preferred
ScheduleEight-hour shifts
Scheduled days and times may vary based on hotel operational needs
Weekend and holiday availability may be required
No travel required
Physical RequirementsThis position requires regular movement throughout the hotel and the ability to actively support the Housekeeping operation.Standing/Walking: Frequent standing and walking throughout guest rooms, hallways, public areas, and back-of-house spaces
Bending: Frequent bending while inspecting guest rooms and assisting with housekeeping tasks
Reaching: Frequent reaching when inspecting rooms, assisting team members, and accessing supplies
Lifting: Ability to lift and carry housekeeping supplies and equipment as needed
Mobility: Ability to move throughout the hotel for extended periods of time
Work Environment: Ability to work in guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house spaces, and other hotel environments
Other: Ability to assist with housekeeping duties when operationally necessary
