JOB SUMMARY:

The Housekeeping Supervisor spends most of the shift inspecting guest rooms and public space to ensure cleanliness standards are achieved. 

This position also trains and onboards new employees to the department. The Housekeeping Supervisor also will open the house, create boards, and ensure the workday is organized and staffing levels are up to par.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

• $18.00 - $19.00/hr. – Biweekly (every two weeks)

SCHEDULE:

The hospitality industry is 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and 365 days of the year. All candidates must be available and are expected to work Texas A&M football game days, Ring Days, graduations, and other high occupancy times due to special events. We strive hard to manage and minimalize overtime, but it should and will be expected when business levels call for it.

• Full-time: 30-40 hours per week depending on level of business forecasted
• Days of week/weekend scheduled will vary depending on level of business forecasted.
• Shift options: Varies Saturday-Friday

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Oversee the performance and cleaning standards of housekeeping department.
• Assist and supervise staff.
• Complete morning assignments for housekeepers and housemen.
• Prioritize and direct the work of staff.
• Responsible for the training of team members.
• Update room statuses throughout the day on the hotel computer system if needed.
• Responsible for the care and cleanliness of all areas of responsibility.
• Evaluate performance of staff.
• Report deficiencies and maintenance issues.
• Maintain schedule of all weekly/monthly special projects.
• Remain alert, courteous and helpful to guests and co-workers at all times.
• Assist all other departments as needed to ensure the success of the overall operation of the property.
• Any other reasonable tasks as assigned.

What are we looking for?

• 6 months experience in a similar housekeeping position desirable
• Engaging and caring personality
• Time management skills
• Ability to work on feet for an extended period
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to read room numbers, dates, and basic instructions.
• Ability to move, traverse, position self to reach corners on floors and high places; observe conditions, detect odors, position and navigate carts weighing up to 100 lbs in tight spaces; operate equipment including spray bottles, vacuums, mops, brooms, dust pans, scrub pads and dusters.
• Lift, carry and position loads of at least 25lbs.
