POSITION SUMMARY:

The Housekeeping Technician, under the supervision of the Housekeeping Supervisor, executes a range of cleaning tasks to uphold cleanliness standards within tribal facilities. Responsibilities include light cleaning, shampooing rugs, floor waxing, and furniture rearrangement. Adhering to safety protocols and environmental regulations is imperative. This role requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and teamwork to ensure an inviting and hygienic environment for all occupants.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Execute light cleaning duties to uphold the condition of tribal facilities.
• Administer carpet and rug maintenance, including shampooing as required.
• Apply floor care expertise by performing stripping and waxing procedures to uphold cleanliness and visual standards.
• Arrange furniture in alignment with directives from the Housekeeping Supervisor.
• Adhere rigorously to safety protocols and environmental regulations to ensure a secure working environment.
• Support in managing inventory levels of cleaning supplies to facilitate operational efficiency.
• Promptly escalate any maintenance requirements or repair needs to the appropriate supervisor.
• Ensure proper disposal of waste and recyclables in assigned areas in compliance with established protocols.
• Uphold cleanliness and organizational standards within storage areas for efficient inventory management.
• Foster collaborative efforts among team members to optimize task completion efficiency.
• Adhere strictly to established cleaning schedules and procedures for consistent maintenance standards.
• Deliver exceptional customer service to facility occupants, reflecting positively on the organization.
• Promptly report any incidents or emergencies to the appropriate authorities, ensuring swift and effective resolution.
• Engage in training sessions to continually enhance skills and knowledge in housekeeping duties, contributing to personal and professional growth.
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Proficient in executing cleaning tasks to maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation in various environments.
• Ability to pay close attention to details to ensure thorough cleaning and presentation of spaces.
• Possessing physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks for extended periods and handle potentially strenuous activities such as lifting and moving furniture.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with team members to achieve common goals and complete tasks efficiently.
• Understanding of safety protocols and practices to maintain a safe working environment for oneself and others.
• Skill in managing time effectively to adhere to cleaning schedules and meet deadlines.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills to convey information to supervisors and team members regarding cleaning tasks, maintenance needs, and inventory management.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience in housekeeping, janitorial services, or a similar role preferred.
• Familiarity with carpet cleaning, floor care, and other cleaning practices are advantageous.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and move furniture, equipment, and supplies up to a certain weight threshold (e.g., 50 pounds).
• Capability to handle potentially strenuous activities such as carpet shampooing and floor waxing.
• Agility to navigate and work efficiently in various environments within tribal facilities.
• Capacity to maintain cleanliness standards while executing duties in alignment with safety protocols and environmental regulations.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

• Successful completion of applicable tribal drug test.
• Successful completion of applicable tribal background check.
• Must pass background investigation for suitability of character identified in accordance with the Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act.
• Possess and maintain a valid driver's license with no serious violations.
