Job Description

About Us

Anthos|Home is an innovative nonprofit transforming the way New Yorkers with housing subsidies locate and secure stable housing. Modeled after Brilliant Corners in California, we streamline the apartment search, approval, and move-in process while addressing gaps in the NYC voucher system. Our mission is to be a game-changer for New Yorkers who are unhoused or at risk of homelessness.

The Role The Housing Acquisition Specialist will work as part of the Housing Acquisition team and report to the Housing Acquisition Supervisor. This role focuses on identifying and securing apartments across New York City while building strong relationships with property owners, managers, brokers, and building staff. The Specialist plays an important role in expanding access to housing for New Yorkers using rental assistance vouchers by increasing the number of landlords and units participating in the program. The Housing Acquisition Specialist will cultivate landlord partnerships, identify barriers in the leasing process, and work collaboratively with internal teams to support successful tenant placements. The team uses internal systems to track housing leads, manage landlord relationships, and monitor the housing pipeline, and the Specialist will maintain accurate data while supporting strategic outreach and acquisition efforts. The team also utilizes Flex Pool funding to help secure apartments and may “bank” units that meet voucher standards while tenants are being matched.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify and secure rental housing opportunities throughout New York City that meet voucher program requirements.
  • Generate and utilize leasing leads through phone outreach, internet platforms, social media, in-person engagement, and canvassing.
  • Market and communicate Anthos|Home incentives and programs to prospective landlords, property managers, brokers, and housing associations.
  • Develop and manage a portfolio of landlord and broker relationships to support ongoing apartment acquisition and repeat leasing opportunities.
  • Provide account management and ongoing support to property providers while nurturing repeat business opportunities and long-term partnerships.
  • Maintain and update thorough and accurate lead and property data within the internal database system.
  • Conduct housing quality inspections as needed and advise property providers of any deficiencies that must be addressed to meet program requirements.
  • Work closely with the Tenant Housing Coordination, Operations, and Tenant Aftercare teams to support successful placements and housing stability.
  • Identify barriers in the leasing process and help develop solutions that improve landlord participation and tenant access to housing.
  • Perform other duties as needed and assigned.

What Success Looks Like

  • A growing network of engaged landlords, brokers, and property managers who regularly partner with Anthos|Home.
  • A strong and active pipeline of apartment opportunities that increases the number of units available for voucher holders.
  • Reliable tracking of housing leads and landlord relationships within internal systems to support team coordination and strategy.
  • Effective collaboration with internal teams to move apartments from lead to successful tenant placement.
