Job Description

Are you passionate about people and confident in providing HR support and guidance across a fast-paced operational environment? Do you have strong employee relations experience and a solid understanding of UK employment law? Are you looking for an opportunity where you can influence culture, drive engagement, and make a real impact on business performance?

Here at GXO, we're looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join our Fashion & Apparel team at our Primark site in Thrapston. Reporting to the HR Manager and supporting both Warehouse and Transport operations, you'll play a key role in delivering a professional, proactive, and customer-focused HR service, ensuring colleagues and managers receive expert support across the full employee lifecycle.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a busy, people-focused operation where you'll shape culture, support employee engagement initiatives, and contribute to the continued success of the site.

This is a full-time, permanent position. You will work on-site Monday to Friday, 09:00 till 17.00.

Pay, benefits and more:

We're looking to offer a salary of up to £35,000 per annum, and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). Your benefits package includes a company sponsored pension scheme, private medical & dental insurance, a 24/7 online GP service, life assurance and a fully comprehensive employee assistance programme. You'll also have access to our MyBenefits platform offering a variety of high street discounts, a cycle to work scheme, cashback cards, a saving scheme and much more!

What you'll do on a typical day:

  • Provide expert HR advice and support to managers on employee relation matters, including disciplinary, grievance, performance management, absence management, and capability cases
  • Partner with operational leaders to drive engagement, performance, talent development, and the delivery of the site's people plan
  • Support recruitment and onboarding activities, ensuring a positive candidate and colleague experience while maintaining compliance with company processes
  • Analyse and report on HR metrics including absence, turnover, headcount, and employee relations trends, providing insights to support business decisions
  • Champion employee engagement, cultural change, and continuous improvement initiatives across the site while deputising for the HR Manager when required

What you need to succeed at GXO:

  • Previous experience in a generalist HR Advisor role, ideally within a logistics, warehousing, manufacturing, or fast-paced operational environment
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, HR policies, employee relations, and change management practices
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and support stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • CIPD Level 5 qualified (or currently studying towards) and confident using Microsoft Office and HR Systems
