Job Description

PABCO Gypsum, a division of PABCO Building Products LLC, has provided quality gypsum board products and service for over 35 years. PABCO Gypsum supplies a complete line of gypsum products for commercial and residential construction.

HR and Safety Coordinator

The Newark, CA plant is currently accepting resumes for a HR and Safety Coordinator. Your job as a HR and Safety Coordinator is responsible for supporting human resources functions while promoting and maintaining a safe work environment, ensuring compliance with company policies, employment regulations, and workplace safety standards.

What is the Job?

  • Recruiting administration; including posting positions to various job sites, screening candidates, and drug testing and background check administration.
  • Assist with timekeeping responsibilities.
  • Training administration for HR and Safety; including recordkeeping and conducting in-person training.
  • Assist in coordinating special events.
  • Prepares and maintains a variety of routine to moderately complex reports for management.
  • Assist with recruiting interviews, conduct new hire orientations and exit interviews.
  • Engages, implements, and effectively communicates with plant employees and leadership on best practices as it pertains to HR and Safety.
  • Attends training and educational seminars as appropriate to learn regulatory requirements.
  • Visibly demonstrates a personal commitment to safety and the safety of all employees and contractors.
  • Abide by all safety rules set forth by company and government regulatory agencies and ensure that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.
  • All other special projects or tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • College Degree; and
  • Two (2) or more years related experience and/or training; or
  • Equivalent combination of education and experiences.
  • PHR Certification preferred.

What is the Pay?

  • Starting pay is $32 - $35 per hour, depending on experience.

What is the Work Schedule?

  • This is a full-time onsite position.
  • Typically Monday - Friday; although there may be the occasional need for weekend work.
  • The working day is expected to be 7 AM - 4 PM or 8 AM - 5 PM.
