Key Responsibilities

Benefits Administration

  • Process benefits enrollments, eligibility updates, life-event changes, beneficiary updates, terminations, retirements, and related transactions accurately and on time.
  • Support administration of programs such as medical, dental, vision, retirement, leave-related benefits, COBRA, and other applicable plans.
  • Maintain accurate employee and benefits records in HRIS, benefits, and service-management systems.
  • Review transactions and data for completeness, identify discrepancies, and coordinate corrections as needed.
  • Provide employees and HR partners with clear guidance on benefits programs, eligibility, coverage, enrollment, and related processes.
  • Protect confidential employee, medical, and benefits information in accordance with privacy and security requirements.

Employee Support and Issue Resolution

  • Respond to employee and HR partner inquiries through phone, email, chat, ticketing systems, and other service channels.
  • Deliver timely, professional, and employee-centered support while handling sensitive matters with discretion.
  • Research and resolve benefits-related issues using established procedures, policies, and available resources.
  • Escalate complex matters appropriately and partner with Benefits, Payroll, HRIS, vendors, and other stakeholders to drive resolution.
  • Document inquiries, transactions, complaints, and outcomes in applicable systems.
  • Build positive working relationships through responsive communication, strong follow-through, and sound judgment.

Compliance, Reporting, and Data Quality

  • Maintain working knowledge of benefits plans, eligibility rules, policies, and relevant regulations.
  • Support audits, reporting, reconciliations, compliance activities, and employee-data validation.
  • Assist with annual benefits processes, including open enrollment and required employee communications.
  • Identify data, process, or compliance concerns and support corrective actions.
  • Follow applicable privacy requirements, including HIPAA and other standards related to protected health and employee information.

Process Improvement and Team Support

  • Identify opportunities to improve benefits processes, employee experience, data accuracy, service delivery, and system usage.
  • Maintain process documentation, work instructions, checklists, and knowledge-base materials.
  • Participate in process-improvement initiatives, system testing, implementation activities, and special projects.
  • Support new-hire orientation and provide benefits information to employees as needed.
  • Collaborate with People Operations, Payroll, HRIS, HR Business Partners, Benefits, and other internal teams.
  • Provide cross-functional and backup support to help maintain consistent service levels.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent education, training, and relevant experience may be considered.
  • Two or more years of experience in Human Resources, benefits administration, HR operations, employee services, or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of employee benefits administration, eligibility requirements, enrollment processes, and employee support practices.
  • Experience working with HRIS, benefits administration platforms, service-management tools, or similar business systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, including Excel.
