Role overview

We are looking for an experienced HR Business Partner to support employees and management at our Heinsberg plant. In this role, you will act as a strategic and operational HR partner, ensuring smooth people processes across recruitment, payroll coordination, employee development, performance management, and labor relations. You will work closely with plant leadership, employees, and the works council while ensuring compliance with German labor regulations and company policies.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Recruitment & Onboarding:

Advise the Plant Manager on personnel selection and recruitment decisions.

Take full ownership of the recruitment process, including candidate management and contract negotiations within the company salary framework and in alignment with the HR Director EMEA & Asia.

Coordinate and support onboarding activities to ensure a smooth employee integration process.

  • Payroll & Time Tracking:

Ensure accurate and timely data submission to the external payroll provider.

Oversee payroll-related processes, including vacation tracking, absences, and working time administration.

  • Training & Development:

Organize and coordinate professional training initiatives for employees.

Support career development, succession planning, and talent management activities.

  • Performance Management:

Guide and support managers throughout the performance management cycle, including appraisals, bonus processes, and employee exits.

Promote a performance-driven and development-oriented culture.

  • Employee & Labor Relations:

Act as the company representative in discussions and negotiations with the works council.

Ensure all HR-related activities comply with German labor law and Works Constitution Law (Betriebsverfassungsgesetz).

Build trusted and professional relationships with employees, managers, and employee representatives.

  • HR Operations & Compliance:

Support budgeting processes related to HR activities.

Ensure compliance with data protection and ethics standards.

Contribute to HR projects and continuous process improvements.

Your qualifications, experience and skills

  • University degree in Business Administration, Economics, Human Resources, or a comparable field, combined with at least 3 years of experience in a similar HR role, ideally within an international or multinational environment.
  • Practical experience working with works councils and solid knowledge of German Works Constitution Law (Betriebsverfassungsrecht).
  • Experience within an industrial or manufacturing environment is considered an advantage, while project management experience is beneficial.
  • Good command of English and German, both written and spoken, with strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Structured and organized working style with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Customer- and employee-oriented mindset, combined with flexibility and adaptability in dynamic environments.
  • Proactive, independent, and responsible approach to work, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders.
