Job Description

Weyerhaeuser Company is searching for an experienced Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP) to support a unionized manufacturing site located in Longview, Washington. This position will report to the Senior HR Business Manager, with a dotted line to the Longview Mill Manager. The HRBP will provide onsite human resources support to approximately 225 hourly and 25 salaried employees located at the mill site.

In this role, the HRBP will be tasked with building relationships with employees at all levels of the organization and managing a variety of moderately complex human resources tasks, specific to the mill and companywide initiatives. The HRBP will be consulted on a variety of topics ranging from talent management, compensation reviews, performance management, labor relations and everything in between. Additionally, they will be a strategic partner to mill leaders and sit on the mill leadership team.

Key Functions:

  • Role model Weyerhaeuser's core principles of integrity, fairness, creating a positive work environment and ensuring open communication among associates.

  • Advise leaders on moderately complex strategic, operational, and business goals, and incorporate relevant HR tools to facilitate solutions while considering Weyerhaeuser needs beyond the mill.

  • Proactively manage HR activities and labor/employee relations.

  • Exercise sound judgment and successfully influence mill leaders.

  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition on salaried and hourly hiring strategies, alignment across workforce planning, candidate experience, and onboarding outcomes.

  • Manage moderately complex projects for the mill.

  • Facilitate workforce planning and talent management processes for the mill.

  • Manage and provide guidance regarding collective bargaining agreements and grievance management.

  • Manage education, training, and continuous development of skills for leaders and associates.

  • Manage compensation and wage analysis to ensure the facility is competitive and able to retain critical skills.

  • Ensure state and federal compliance requirements are met.

  • Prepare and analyze reports for quarterly and annual reporting (workforce representation, turnover, headcount reports, etc.).

  • Proactively identify what needs to change and take the initiative to change it.

  • At least eight years of human resources related experience, preferably within an operating environment.

  • Union experience required.

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

  • SPHR, PHR, etc. certification is preferred.

Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $82,000 to $123,500 based on your level of skills, qualifications, and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 7% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.

Retirement: Employees are able to enroll in our company's 401k plan, which includes a paid company match in addition to our contribution equal to 5% of your eligible pay.

Paid Time Off or Vacation: We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with 3-weeks of paid vacation to use during your first year of employment. In addition, after being employed for six months, eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 holiday hours.
