Job Description

Job Summary

Responsible and accountable for providing quality support to Nextep clients’ HR related needs, resulting in client retention

and growth. Administers and manages utilization of Nextep’s HR service offerings. Provides essential support to HR

Business Partners and their clients. Supports Senior HR Business Partners and Human Resources Manager on

administrative tasks and other HR projects.

Responsibilities

Unemployment Hearing Management

This role specializes in the hearing phase of the unemployment process and supports the Claims Coordinator on other

claim inquiries.

● Claims Collaboration: Work closely with the Unemployment Claims Coordinator to provide support on general

claim inquiries and ensure seamless communication regarding claim status. Maintain POA process with Experian.

● Hearing Preparation & Representation: Manage all preparation with clients for unemployment hearings,

including scheduling, gathering required documentation, and coaching clients on testimony. Serve as the Nextep

representative on all hearings and collaborate with HRBP when necessary.

Specialized HR Support & Projects

● Compensation Assessment: Conduct client salary analyses using the ERI Salary Assessor tool and

communicate results and recommendations to clients.

● Recruitment Backup: Serve as the backup to the Client Recruiter, assisting with client recruiting efforts, including

drafting job descriptions, posting openings, screening candidates, and coordinating interviews as needed. Perform

ATS demos and/or provide sales with demo video when requested.

● Training & Process Improvement:

○ Assist HR Manager and Team Leads with developing and building HR Business Partner (HRBP) training

materials for new hires.

○ Proactively assist with maintaining the organization and cleanliness of the HR Drive and client folders.

● Client Survey Management: Assist in the creation and deployment of client surveys.

HR Coordinator

● Document Upkeep: Provide standard response template responses to clients requesting information about ADA,

FMLA, template requests, Nextep/Mineral client training curriculums, etc.

● Vendor & Billing Management: Direct the end-to-end administration, vendor relationships, and client billing for

DISA, Eskills, and DISC assessment platforms.

● Handbook Assistance: Assist the Handbook Coordinator in collaborating with clients to create and edit

employee handbooks, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Engage with clients to gather accurate and

comprehensive information necessary for updating handbooks.

● Team Support: Support and promote department goals by participating in the collection and evaluation of data,

engaging in creative solutions and decision making, and upholding the mission of the department. Recommends

new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency and effectiveness of

department and services performed.

Requirements

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in Human Resources or related Business field) from a four year college or

university preferred

Skills

  • Advanced use of Google Suite; experience with Canva or other design platform
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Enjoys a variety of tasks and able to move easily from one task to another

Experience:

  • 1-3 years of human resources related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and

experience

Certifications/Licenses

  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or the Society for Human Resource Management-Certified Professional

(SHRM-CP) preferred. Maintains certification by participating in professional development sessions or seminars
