Job Summary

As an HR Country Representative, you will be based in Chakan Pune and will report to Head HR Country Services.

In this position, you will be supporting the HR Country Head in labour relations and government relations, local policies, local reward services, reporting and compliance, termination process for Tetra Pak India Pvt Ltd. You will have the opportunity to work with business leaders and different HR stakeholders across Asia Pacific and globally to deliver core HR services and ensuring operational governance. You will collaborate with a broad spectrum of stakeholders including Business Leaders & HR stakeholders across Asia Pacific, to ensure operational compliance & governance is in place for Tetra Pak India. You will assist in delivering HR core services locally and will be guided by our HR Service Centre.

You will operate in a matrix organizational structure that crosses functions, geographies & cultures. The environment is dynamic and fast-paced. Your collaborative approach will be your foundation for you to ensure the required compliance & compliance is in place at the local level.

What you will do

  • Drive the review of local rewards strategy, policies and guidelines in the country including compensation review guidelines and benefits programs, working closely with the HR Country Committee. Leads local specific rewards projects in cooperation with HR Service Centre.
  • Drive labour relations strategy in cooperation with the HR Country Head and acts as the main contact with local unions to manage labour relations issues, agreements and represent the company for all demands. Acts as the main contact and representative in labour relations issues. Facilitates conflict management between managers and employees and recommends corrective actions. Collaborate with HR Factory Representative (HRFR) on the matters of labour relations.
  • Advise local regulations and updates where appropriate for role. Ensures compliance with local regulations including regulatory requirements on HR core processes and over time compliance control and country specific regulatory training. Acts as the main contact with local government authorities, such as Factory Inspector, MPCB, Social Security, Labour officer etc.
  • Represent the company in internal and external audits, manage labour suits and government audits. Interact with internal and external lawyers. May represent the company in court. Ensure healthy industrial relations by manging internal and external stake holders. Support to maintain Occupational Health and Safety in the market.
  • Collaborate with the HRFR and Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Manager on the matters.
  • Set and governs policies and procedures within area of responsibility, including employment terms and conditions, in collaboration with the HR Country Committee.
  • Support HR Business Partners (HRBP) in driving local employee engagement actions and organization changes. Support HRBP in Transition & Strategic Actions, where applicable.
  • Lead Disciplinary and allied policies & processes of the Company, including being part of POSH IC. Lead internal enquiry procedure as the Management Representative and support other investigation matters in cases of indiscipline and / or breach of company policies & code of conduct. Support local managers to manage activities like grievance handling, workplace conduct etc and maintain healthy industrial relations within SAM market.
  • Drive programs focused on nurturing Leadership Behaviours- Dynamic, Productive & Capable, including global programs like culture conversations and local programs like Manager trainings on policies & processes, Excellence Awards, etc.
  • Introduce and / or drive local employee engagement initiatives, including key programs like sports and volunteering activities.
  • Lead actions on company's DEI Goals, including driving actions on Gender Diversity, Inclusion and Wellbeing. Introduce and / or drive Employee Wellbeing and welfare activities through local as well as global programs like Employee Assistance Program and Mental Wellbeing. Support individual cases of wellbeing concerns.
  • Support Head of HR Country Services other key stakeholders in employee communication and interactions.

We believe you have

  • Master's degree in HR with a reputed institute. Law degree will be an added advantage
  • At least 15 years of professional experience in HR environment, especially as a HR Generalist.
  • Demonstrable- Integrity, competence & energy, along with growth mindset.
  • Strong knowledge in local labour laws and strong experience in managing relations with unions and local government authorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. Should have successfully built relationships with internal clients, colleagues, authorities and external partners.
  • Very strong communication skills - proficiency in English, Hindi and Marathi, including written communication, strong presentation & public speaking skills.
  • Strong Data & Analytics skills - including use of tools like Excel and Power BI
  • A track record of proven performance and driving change.
