Job Description:
Looking for a valuable internship experience with a global leader? UPS has the opportunity for you! UPS is seeking a Human Resources (HR) Intern with a focus in project management to support the daily operations and strategic priorities of the HR Department.
The HR Internship Program prepares the next generation of HR professionals for success through hands-on project leadership, skill development, networking opportunities, mentorship, and exposure to multiple HR business functions. Interns will take ownership of complex, high-impact initiatives, managing projects from planning through execution, and will present their capstone projects to the Human Resource Leadership Team (HRLT) at the conclusion of the internship.

The internship is located at UPS Global Headquarters in Atlanta, GA, and candidates must be willing to relocate or work in the job location for the duration of the internship.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Leads a project or workstream to address a defined business need from initiation through delivery
- Develops project plans, timelines, milestones, and success metrics
- Tracks progress, identifies risks or dependencies, and recommends mitigation strategies
- Coordinates with cross-functional stakeholders to align scope, expectations, and deliverables
- Supports process improvement initiatives by documenting workflows and proposing enhancements
- Synthesizes research, stakeholder input, and data into clear recommendations
- Produces executive-ready deliverables, including project updates and presentations
- Ensures alignment with company, business-unit, and long-term HR strategies
- Participates in training, development sessions, and intern networking events
- Engages with assigned mentors for guidance, feedback, and career development
- Encourages diversity of thought, experience, and ideas
- Presents final capstone project outcomes and recommendations to HR leadership
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
- Demonstrated project management capability, including planning, prioritization, and execution
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and stakeholders simultaneously
- Experience leading projects, workstreams, or initiatives (academic, professional, or extracurricular)
- Solid organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Comfort operating in ambiguous environments and adapting plans as priorities evolve
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; familiarity with project tracking tools a plus
- Initiative to drive results, follow through on commitments, and take ownership of outcomes
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise professional judgment
- Open to feedback and committed to continuous improvement
Basic Qualifications
- Must be a student currently enrolled in a degreed college/university program, or graduated from a degreed college/university program within the last 24 months
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or National, permanent resident, or authorized to work in the U.S.
- Ability to work in or relocate to the job location for the duration of the internship
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program or recent graduate with coursework in Human Resources, Project Management, Business Administration, Operations, or related field.
