Overview: The Human Resources Manager serves as a strategic and operational partner to the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), supporting the delivery of Human Resources programs and services throughout the organization. This position directly supervises and develops the Human Resources Generalist, collaborates with department leaders on employee relations, talent management, workforce planning, and organizational effectiveness, while ensuring compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations. The Human Resources Manager builds strong relationships across the organization and acts as a trusted advisor to leadership and employees, maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, judgment, communication, and confidentiality.

- Supervise, mentor, train, and develop the HR Generalist.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with department heads, managers, supervisors, and employees, serving as a trusted Human Resources partner while collaborating with the CHRO to support departmental and organizational objectives.
- Conduct recurring meetings with department leadership regarding employee relations, staffing needs, workforce planning, employee engagement, departmental initiatives, and operational challenges.
- Maintain regular communication with the CHRO regarding employee relations matters, departmental feedback, workforce concerns, compliance issues, staffing challenges, organizational developments, and recommended courses of action.
- Support the CHRO in employee relations matters, investigations, conflict resolution, corrective action processes, separations, and performance-related issues by assisting with fact-finding, documentation review, meeting coordination, recommendations, and follow-ups.
- Coach and advise department heads, managers, supervisors, and the Director of Legal Support Staff on employee performance, workplace conduct, accountability, communication, and development, assisting leadership with performance improvement and corrective action processes.
- Collaborate with the CHRO, employment counsel, and organization leadership regarding complex employment matters, policy interpretation, risk management, and compliance issues.
- Partner closely with the Director of Legal Support Staff on employee relations issues, performance management, staffing needs, recruiting efforts, candidate selection, and separation meetings, serving as a Human Resources resource and backup contact during absences.
- Assist with timesheet review and correction processes to support payroll administration.
- Coordinate and support recruiting efforts for legal assistants, administrators, and paralegals, partnering with hiring managers throughout the recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes.
- Support and monitor the employee performance evaluation process and development efforts.
- Conduct exit interviews, analyze turnover trends and employee feedback, and provide recommendations for retention and engagement opportunities.
- Coordinate employee separations and related documentation processes in partnership with the CHRO.
- Research and monitor federal, state, and local employment law developments, evaluate impacts on policies, and implement updates to employee handbooks, policies, and related documents in collaboration with the HR team.
- Provide direction, coaching, and quality assurance for the HR Generalist's work, including employment law research, compliance projects, policy development, and HR initiatives.
- Oversee compliance initiatives, including harassment prevention training, workplace violence prevention programs, and other required training programs.
- Maintain Human Resources records, tracking systems, reports, and compliance documentation, ensuring significant trends and concerns are communicated to the CHRO.
- Assist with unemployment claims, audits, agency inquiries, and employment-related requests.
- Support employee engagement, recognition, wellness, and culture-building initiatives.
- Lead or participate in special projects, organizational initiatives, process improvement efforts, and strategic assignments as directed by the CHRO.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- 8+ years' experience in HR Management/leadership
- Highly prefer law firm experience
