Job Description
Position Description:The HR Recruiter/Generalist supports full-cycle recruitment for assigned roles, working with HR & Recruiting Manager and hiring managers to understand staffing needs and candidate requirements. Will also support exempt and non-exempt employees across the organization by assisting with onboarding administration, benefits administration, employee wellness and other HR functions as needed within a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is service-oriented, detail-focused, and comfortable balancing operational HR responsibilities with recruitment activities.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Research and identify potential candidates through job boards, social media platforms, employee referrals and educational institutions including colleges, universities, vocational/trade schools and technical schools
- Plan and conduct recruiting activities at colleges, trade schools, technical schools and other venues as appropriate
- Create and post job ads for open positions
- Conduct preliminary screening of candidate resumes to ensure they meet minimum requirements
- Manage candidate communication and coordinate scheduling and logistics of all interviews between candidates and hiring managers throughout the hiring process
- Keep accurate and current records of all recruitment activities
- Assist with recruiting-related administrative tasks including reference checks, background checks and new hire documentation
- Participate in the development of ongoing creative and cost-effective sourcing strategies and stay informed of trends and innovative recruiting techniques
- Develop an effective pipeline of key talent potentially available for immediate hire as succession planning needs dictate
- Ensure all job descriptions are up to date and maintained for every job title in the HR file and assist hiring managers with creating and updating job descriptions
- Work with Director of Operations and staffing agency partners to assist with requests for contract workers and monitor accuracy of staffing agency invoices as well as new contract worker paperwork
- Ensure completion and compliance of pre-employment and onboarding requirements (I-9, background checks, physical/drug screening and policy acknowledgements.)
- Support employee wellness initiatives that promote physical health, mental well-being, and work-life balance
- Assist with wellness communications, events, and preventive care initiatives
- Serve as a point of contact for employee questions related to HR programs and policies (e.g., benefits, handbook, policies, insurances)
- Maintain accurate, confidential employee records
- Assist with HR policy administration and employee communications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or related field
- 3–5 years of HR experience, preferably within a manufacturing or operational environment
- Experience supporting recruitment activities and general HR functions
- Experience supporting exempt and non-exempt employees
- Effective communication skills with the ability to conduct professional phone and/or video interviews
- Proficiency with technology including Microsoft Office Suite, HRIS systems, Applicant Tracking Software and social media recruiting
- Knowledge of job posting sites such as Indeed, LinkedIn, and Handshake as well as other recruiting platforms
- Excellent organizational abilities with proven track record of managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Professional demeanor and ability to represent company values and culture to external candidates
- Strong initiative and solid judgement with the ability to maintain strict confidentiality and discretion
- Ability to travel to schools and recruiting events as required
- HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP)
- Certificate in recruitment (e.g., SHRM, AIRS)
