Human Resources Specialist – Temp-to-Perm | Port Washington, NY$28–$30/hr | Mon–Fri, 9:15 AM–5:00 PM | On-SiteA well-known Long Island nonprofit is seeking a hands-on HR Specialist for a temporary assignment (May–Sept) with strong potential for full-time hire. Join a collaborative, mission-driven team and gain experience across recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, and HR compliance.Key Responsibilities:
  • Full-cycle recruitment and onboarding of employees*
  • Support employee relations, performance management, and development programs*
  • Administer benefits, FMLA, ADA, and leave management*
  • Maintain HR records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field preferred*
  • Experience with HRIS, ATS, and employment regulations
  • Strong communication, organizational, and confidential data handling skills
