HR Specialist Setting/Hours: 100% In-Office | 8-5Join trak group in partnering with a growing client in Forest Park, Ohio that’s expanding its Shared Services team. Job description:The HR Specialist supports a wide range of human resources functions with a strong emphasis on recruitment, onboarding, HR administration, employee engagement, and day‑to‑day HR support. This role plays a key part in creating a positive employee experience by coordinating hiring processes, maintaining accurate HR documentation, supporting culture and social events, and strengthening the company’s employer brand.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Recruiting & Talent Acquisition•Manage the full‑cycle recruitment process for hourly, professional, and skilled‑trade roles, including job postings, resume screening, phone interviews, and interview scheduling.•Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and develop effective recruiting strategies.•Source candidates through job boards, networking, social media, and community partnerships.•Coordinate background checks, drug screens, reference checks, and pre‑hire documentation.•Maintain accurate records in the applicant tracking system (ATS).•Support job fairs, school partnerships, and community recruiting events.Onboarding & Orientation•Prepare offer letters, onboarding packets, and internal communications.•Facilitate new‑hire orientation and coordinate first‑day logistics including workstations, badges, and HR system setup.•Ensure timely execution and retention of onboarding documentation.HR Administration & Employee Support•Serve as a point of contact for employee HR questions (policies, benefits, PTO, payroll, etc.).•Maintain organized, compliant personnel files (electronic and physical).•Support HRIS data entry and updates.•Assist with payroll preparation and timesheet reviews.•Support benefits enrollment and open‑enrollment coordination.Culture, Engagement & Social Events•Assist with planning, preparing, and coordinating company events, recognition programs, wellness efforts, and employee appreciation activities.•Manage event logistics including scheduling, vendor coordination, supply purchasing, and announcements.•Support initiatives aimed at improving employee engagement and organizational culture.Employer Branding & LinkedIn Management•Post job openings, employee highlights, and culture content on LinkedIn.•Maintain a consistent and professional employer brand presence online.•Share company milestones, community involvement, and event photos.Compliance, Reporting & HR Support Tasks•Assist with HR reporting including turnover, recruiting metrics, and headcount.•Maintain compliance with employment laws (FMLA, ADA, EEO, FLSA) and required postings.•Track required trainings and assist with scheduling.•Support internal audits and improvement of HR procedures.General HR & Office Administration•Support HR team with scheduling, documentation, communications, and administrative tasks.•Manage scanning, filing, and record organization.•Monitor the HR inbox and route inquiries appropriately.•Assist with internal HR program communications.Qualifications –Required•Associate or bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience.•2+ years of HR experience, preferably with recruiting responsibilities.•Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.•Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with HRIS/ATS systems.•High attention to detail, organization, and confidentiality.Qualifications –Preferred•Experience in manufacturing or industrial recruiting.•Experience managing employer branding or social media.•Knowledge of HR compliance requirements.Working Conditions•On‑site Monday–Friday.•Frequent interaction with employees, candidates, and leaders.•Must maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.If you're ready to take the next step in your career and want to make an impact, partner with trak group to explore this opportunity.
