Job Description

The Supreme Court of Ohio is seeking to fill the position of Human Resources Coordinator within the Office of Human Resources. The HR Coordinator provides comprehensive administrative and operational support to the Office of Human Resources across multiple functions including employment activities, employee lifecycle processing, compliance tracking, and office-wide HR operations to ensure efficient, consistent, and high-quality HR service across the Court. The HR Coordinator works closely with office leadership to support the execution of programs and processes and serves as a key point of contact for internal administrative HR needs.

What You'll Do:

Recruitment & Employment: Coordinates recruitment activities including posting positions, scheduling interviews, communicating with candidates, and supporting hiring managers throughout the hiring process. Assists with candidate screening, creating interview questions, and intake scheduling under direction of HR leadership. Supports recruitment strategy implementation as directed. Ensures recruitment documentation is completed accurately and in compliance with Court policies.

Onboarding & Orientation: Coordinates onboarding processes for new employees in collaboration with the Employee Development Program Manager, including managing logistics and materials. Ensures completion of onboarding documentation and system entries.

Records Administration: Manages physical HR files and digital HR files in OnBase. Manages record retention, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and policies. Liaises with the Record Center regarding file storage needs. Creates, manages, and distributes PAFs and EDCFs. Maintains accurate, organized, and confidential personnel files in compliance with internal policies and legal requirements. Maintains Court-wide org charts.

Administrative Tasks: Performs various administrative duties, including drafting correspondence and reports, answering and triaging HR Department phone calls, managing department mail, and responding to inquiries including employment verifications. Triage job posting requests from other Courts, liaising with the Office of Public Information to advertise accordingly.

Extern Program Coordination: Coordinates recruitment activities for the Extern Program including internal communications, offer letters, onboarding, tracking participation, and generating reports.

Intern Recruitment: Manages recruitment activities for interns at the Court in collaboration with the Office of the Administrative Director.

Finance: Creates Purchase Request Forms and utilizes a P-Card for purchases on behalf of the Office.

Program & Event Coordination: Coordinates logistics for HR-related events such as new employee receptions, retirement recognitions, wellness events, and benefits-related activities. Collaborates with the Office of Public Information to support HR-related messaging and intranet updates.

Compliance & Process Support: Assists in maintaining HR process documentation and procedural guides. Supports compliance tracking related to HR documentation and employment processes. Identifies opportunities to improve administrative HR workflows and efficiency.

Cross-Functional HR Support: Provides backup support across HR functions as needed, including payroll/benefits administrative coordination and training logistics support. Participates in cross-training to ensure continuity of HR operations.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
