Basic Function and Scope of Responsibilities:
The Human Resources Operations Business Partner is responsible for building, maintaining, and scaling the organization's People Operations infrastructure. This role owns benefits administration, HR systems execution (primarily Workday), HR data governance, compliance, and operational discipline across core People processes.
Serving as a trusted business partner, this role collaborates closely with HR, leadership, Payroll, Finance, and external vendors to ensure People systems, policies, and programs are accurate, compliant, and consistently executed. The HR Operations Business Partner leads team member wellness and engagement initiatives, ensuring programs are well-planned, effectively communicated, and operationally sound. The ideal candidate brings deep Workday and benefits expertise, a strong compliance and systems mindset, and a passion for building scalable, data-driven People Operations that support a high-quality team member experience.
Principal Responsibilities:
Benefits Operations, Vendor Management & Financial Integrity
Own the administration of all team member benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement, HSA, and ancillary benefits
Serve as the primary point of contact for benefits brokers, carriers, and third-party vendors
Manage benefit enrollments, changes, eligibility, terminations, EOI, COBRA updates, and post-termination activity in Workday
Lead annual open enrollment planning, execution, communications, and follow-up
Support HSA account creation, 401(k) enrollments, rollovers, distributions, and ongoing maintenance
Review, validate, and reconcile benefits invoices, payroll uploads, funding, and deductions in partnership with Payroll and Finance
Identify discrepancies, resolve billing issues, and maintain audit-ready documentation
Track and report on vendor costs, enrollments, and discrepancies
HRIS, Data Governance & Reporting
Act as a primary Workday administrator for benefits, business processes, reporting, and data integrity
Maintain HR data governance standards, documentation, and audit readiness across People systems
Develop, maintain, and deliver recurring and ad hoc HR and benefits reports
Optimize Workday workflows, integrations, and reporting to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
Compliance, Policies & Risk Management
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits regulations
Prepare and submit required regulatory filings and reports
Maintain compliance documentation and respond to audits, subpoenas, and inquiries
Support the ongoing review, standardization, and execution of People policies, SOPs, and required notices
Team Member Experience, Communications & Wellness
Coordinate and distribute benefits-related communications, required notices, and enrollment materials
Proactively communicate benefit changes, deadlines, and follow-ups to team members
Support the planning, coordination, and execution of team member wellness and engagement initiatives
Develop and maintain an annual wellness and engagement calendar aligned with benefits offerings and organizational priorities
Partner with internal stakeholders and vendors to execute wellness campaigns, events, and communications
Track participation, engagement trends, and program effectiveness to inform continuous improvement
Business Partnership & Operational Excellence
Serve as a consultative HR Operations partner to leaders and team members
Lead and support cross-functional HR projects and initiatives
Apply project management best practices to deliver improvements on time and within scope
Continuously identify opportunities to improve processes, data quality, and the overall team member experience
Education
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field required
Master's degree preferred but not required
Required Experience & Skills:
4-7 years of HR Generalist or HR Operations experience with significant focus on benefits administration
Extensive hands-on experience with Workday, particularly benefits configuration, reporting, and business processes
Strong knowledge of benefits compliance and regulatory requirements
Demonstrated experience with HR data governance, reporting, and analytics
Proven project management and cross-functional collaboration experience
Strong business partner mindset with excellent communication and problem-solving skills
High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
Preferred Qualifications:
Workday configuration experience
Experience supporting a growing or scaling organization
Advanced reporting, dashboarding, or people analytics experience
Experience managing benefits renewals and vendor negotiations
Success Metrics:
Benefits & Data Accuracy
Maintain 99%+ accuracy in benefits enrollments, deductions, and HR data within Workday
Minimal post-payroll or post-billing corrections related to benefits data
Compliance & Risk Management
All required regulatory filings (e.g., ACA, benefits reporting) submitted accurately and on time
Successful internal or external audits with no material findings
Open Enrollment & Benefits Operations
On-time, well-executed open enrollment with minimal escalations
Reduction in benefits-related issues or rework year-over-year
Wellness & Engagement
Delivery of a clearly defined, annual wellness and engagement calendar with consistent execution of planned initiatives
Increased or sustained participation in wellness programs and engagement activities year-over-year
Location: This is a hybrid role based out of our Frisco office, offering a mix of in-office collaboration and remote work flexibility.
Compensation: The expected base salary range for this position is $70,000 to $85,000 annually. The final compensation offered will be determined based on a number of factors, including but not limited to skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
