Position SummaryThe Human Resources & Payroll Representative is responsible for supporting daily HR operations and ensuring accurate, timely payroll processing. This role serves as a key point of contact for employees regarding HR policies, payroll, benefits, and personnel matters, while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesHuman Resources
- Administer employee onboarding and offboarding processes
- Maintain personnel files and HRIS records with accuracy and confidentiality
- Assist with employee relations, policy interpretation, and HR inquiries
- Support recruitment activities including job postings, screening, and interview coordination
- Assist with benefits administration, open enrollment, and employee questions
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations
- Support audits, reports, and HR metrics as needed
Payroll
- Process bi-weekly/monthly payroll accurately and on schedule
- Review and verify timekeeping records, PTO, and payroll adjustments
- Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws and payroll regulations
- Manage payroll deductions, garnishments, and benefit contributions
- Respond to employee payroll-related questions and resolve discrepancies
- Prepare payroll reports and assist with audits and reconciliations
QualificationsEducation & Experience
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field preferred
- Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in Human Resources and payroll processing
- Experience with HRIS and payroll systems required
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of payroll practices, wage and hour laws, and employment regulations
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Preferred Qualifications
- HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP)
- Experience with multi-state payroll
- Healthcare or multi-entity organization experience
Physical & Work Requirements
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time
- Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs.
- Standard office environment
