Job Description
- Business Development & Estimating:
- Proactively identify and pursue new construction HVAC opportunities in residential and light commercial markets.
- Perform detailed take-offs and develop accurate, competitive cost estimates.
- Prepare and submit professional bid packages with speed and precision.
- Collaborate with builders, general contractors, architects, and vendors during pre-construction.
- Project Management & Execution:
- Manage awarded projects from start to finish, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
- Coordinate with field teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to execute project plans.
- Track milestones, job changes, and overall progress with clear stakeholder communication.
- Identify, document, and manage all change orders to protect margins and eliminate liability.
- Conduct jobsite visits to ensure quality, accountability, and problem-solving in real time.
- Maintain organized project documentation including contracts, schedules, billing, and change orders.
- Install Department Leadership:
- Oversee all retrofit and new construction installers, setting performance expectations and holding the standard.
- Recruit, hire, onboard, and develop high-performing install talent.
- Build and implement scalable install processes, SOPs, and quality control systems.
- Partner closely with sales to ensure clean handoffs, accurate scopes, and strong customer experience.
- Drive reduction in callbacks through training, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Optimize labor efficiency, job costing, and crew utilization to improve profitability.
- Leadership & Accountability:
- Provide consistent reporting on job status, bid pipeline, install performance, and financial forecasting.
- Take ownership of install department performance including quality, efficiency, and team development.
- Represent the company with professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to setting the standard in HVAC.
- 5+ years of experience in HVAC estimating, project management, or related construction roles.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, mechanical codes, and installation practices.
- Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction plans, and technical documents.
- Experience preparing detailed bids, take-offs, and change orders for residential and/or light commercial new construction.
- Excellent project management skills—able to manage multiple jobs, budgets, schedules, and subcontractors simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate with GCs, builders, vendors, and internal field teams.
- High attention to detail with a process-driven mindset and documentation discipline.
- Proficiency in project management and estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, ServiceTitan, or similar).
- Ability to identify scope gaps, jobsite risks, and prevent liability through accurate change order tracking and documentation.
- Must be organized, dependable, and solutions-focused.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
- Competitive $85,000 to $120,000 year dependant on experience plus bonuses.
