Job Title: HVAC Maintenance Technician I

Long Term Contract

Location: Charlotte, NC, 28208

Shift: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM

Job Summary:

The HVAC Maintenance Technician I is responsible for the operation, maintenance, repair, and installation of HVAC and refrigeration systems within a facilities environment. This role supports ongoing building operations by ensuring all heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and related mechanical systems are functioning efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC systems and components
• Service and maintain boilers, chillers, and air handling units (AHUs)
• Work with pumps, pressurization units, expansion vessels, and control systems
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues within HVAC systems
• Conduct preventative maintenance and system inspections
• Support installation and upgrades of HVAC equipment as needed
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and operational procedures

Required Qualifications:

• Active HVAC License (Required)
• Valid Driver’s License (Required)
• Minimum 5 years of HVAC experience (post-apprenticeship preferred)
• Strong experience with:
• • Commercial HVAC systems
  • Boilers and large-scale equipment
  • Air Handling Units (AHUs) and ventilation systems
  • HVAC controls and components
• Background in facilities or building maintenance environments

Preferred Qualifications:

• EPA 608 Certification or equivalent refrigeration certification
• Experience with large chiller systems
• Gas certifications or boiler experience (oil/gas systems)
• Safety certifications (OSHA, etc.)

Work Environment:

• Facilities maintenance setting (commercial/industrial environment)
• May require working with large mechanical systems and equipment
