HVAC WAREHOUSE PERSON

Summary: Tends fabricating machines such as cutoff saws, shears, rolls, brakes, presses, forming machines, that cut, shape, and bend metal plates, sheets, tubes, and fiberglass duct.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Operates fabrication shop machinery and equipment.  Reads job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.

• Handle, move and load materials for fabrication.
• cut duct board, line sets
• Be able to track and maintain inventory 
• Assemble fabricated materials as required by job specifications.
• Label/mark completed work with designation required for identification.
• Sort, stack, bundle, shrink-wrap completed work.
• Observes machine operation to detect work-piece defects or machine malfunction.
• Load fabricated work into truck/trailer for shipment and secure load.
• Measures work-piece dimensions accuracy of machine operation.
• Receive/unload materials/equipment delivered to shop.
• Performs minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies, or work-pieces and regular cleaning.
• Keeps workspace clean, neat and organized.
• Operates any equipment needed to perform job.
• Performs related duties as assigned by supervision.
• Ability to communicate effectively with Field Foremen and Division Manager.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to read and interpret tape measure.

Reasoning Ability:Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Education/Training/Experience: High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months of related experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience.   

Physical Capabilities:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.  The employee frequently is required to talk or hear.  The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/ or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/ or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Ability to be exposed to warehouse elements such as heat, cold, dust, etc.

Work Environment:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts.  The employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock.
• The noise level in the work environment can sometimes be very loud.
