Job Description
Since 1982, International Snubbing Services (ISS) has provided industry-leading well-intervention services. Areas of expertise include hydraulic workover, snubbing, well control, blowout prevention, P&A, offshore drilling, intervention solutions, and equipment. The company's experienced teams are trained to the highest level of certification and are multi-national and multi-lingual, backed by our enhanced and proven equipment. ISS is seeking an experienced HWO Operator to join its team of well-intervention specialists. Project locations are primarily in the Gulf of Mexico and Texas land-based job sites. Lodging, meal subsidies, and rotating schedules are provided by ISS, based on the assigned project.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- 5+ years of experience in static well operations
- High School or GED equivalent preferred
- Ability to pass a post-offer physical examination and drug screen
- Ability to effectively communicate and instruct personnel to operate equipment
- Follow safety requirements and actively take part in safety meetings, risk assessments, hazard hunts, and JSAs
- Basic ability to understand, speak, read, and write English
- Basic computer skills
- Advanced knowledge of well control equipment including BOPs, mud pumps, high-pressure piping, and choke manifolds
- Responsible for directing crew members while rigging up/down, equipment maintenance, and preparation of equipment for the next project
- Ability set up pumps on hydraulic power pack
- Ability to operate traveling and stationary slip bowls and demonstrate how to dress bowls with appropriate dies for tubular requirements to complete the job
- Perform Critical Function Tests, weekly routine maintenance inspections, and confirm documentation is provided by personnel
- Provide instruction, information, and training in specific hazard and safe work practices, spill prevention, and spill response procedures
