This role will ensure the accurate, timely, and compliant processing of client invoices and outstanding balances while maintaining a high level of service and attention to detail.The Legal Billing Specialist will work closely with the Accounting Manager and collaborate with a six-person accounting team in a professional, collegial, and team-oriented environment. Key responsibilities include preparing billing reports, monitoring aging accounts, resolving billing discrepancies, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting high-volume billing operations.This is a hybrid position, offering the flexibility to work remotely 1–2 days per week.Why join us?

Job DetailsResponsibilities:

• Oversee the complete billing process, from generating invoices to receiving payments.
• Collaborate closely with attorneys and other team members to ensure accurate and timely billing.
• Utilize Aderant software for billing and financial reporting purposes.
• Monitor and manage accounts receivable (A/R) and collections, ensuring prompt payment of invoices.
• Reconcile billing accounts and resolve any discrepancies or errors.
• Prepare detailed financial reports and analyses for management.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of billing regulations and procedures in the legal industry.
• Implement effective billing strategies to enhance efficiency and revenue.
• Address client inquiries regarding billing issues professionally and efficiently.
• Ensure compliance with all firm and client billing guidelines.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in legal billing or a similar role within the legal industry.
• Proficiency in Aderant or similar legal billing software is required.
• Strong knowledge of accounts receivable (A/R), collections, and invoice reconciliation.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid (remote and on-site) work environment.
• Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve billing discrepancies efficiently.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field would be an advantage.
• Familiarity with legal terminologies and practices.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
