Job Description

Johnson Service Group (JSG) is a Tier 1 vendor for the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), and we are recruiting for an experienced, I&C Design Engineer , for a 12-month contract assignment supporting upgrades at the Sequoyah Nuclear Plant near Chattanooga, TN.

  • Target W2 Pay Rate: $70.00/hour (time and a half for overtime)
  • Target Start Date: 2/9/26
  • Duration: 12 months
  • U.S. Citizenship is required

Position Summary:

Targeting an experienced I&C Engineer with nuclear experience. Digital system experience is a plus. This role will be involved with projects like Leading Edge Flow Meter replacement, Fire Detection Upgrades, Breaker Replacements, HVAC Upgrades, and other Nuclear Life Extension (NLE) projects.

Responsibilities:

  • PLANS, SCHEDULES, CONDUCTS, OR COORDINATES DETAILED PHASES OF INSTRUMENTATION AND CONTROLS (I&C) ENGINEERING WORK.
  • PERFORMS WORK THAT INVOLVES CONVENTIONAL I&C ENGINEERING PRACTICE BUT MAY INCLUDE A VARIETY OF COMPLEX FEATURES SUCH AS CONFLICTING DESIGN REQUIREMENTS, UNSUITABILITY OF CONVENTIONAL MATERIALS, AND DIFFICULT COORDINATION REQUIREMENTS.
  • PLANS AND CONDUCTS WORK REQUIRING JUDGMENT IN THE INDEPENDENT EVALUATION, SELECTION, AND SUBSTANTIAL ADAPTATION AND MODIFICATION OF STANDARD TECHNIQUES, PROCEDURES, AND CRITERIA.
  • DEVISES NEW APPROACHES TO PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED.
  • PROVIDES PROCUREMENT, AND FIELD ENGINEERING INCLUDING WALK-DOWNS, MODIFICATIONS/MAINTENANCE, AND TESTING SUPPORT.
  • MAY SUPERVISE OR COORDINATE THE WORK OF MULTIDISCIPLINE ENGINEERS, CAD TECHNICIANS, TECHNICIANS, AND OTHERS WHO ASSIST IN SPECIFIC ASSIGNMENTS.
