IBM Maximo Technical Lead On-Prem To MAS Cloud Migration

Job Overview

Experienced Maximo Technical Lead with deep hands-on expertise in IBM Maximo, including mandatory experience migrating from on-premise to SaaS. This role requires strong technical leadership, advanced Maximo configuration and integration skills, and the ability to guide a small team through a large-scale modernization effort.

The Maximo Technical Lead will be 100% hands-on, lead a team of technical and functional resources, and drive the successful delivery of the Maximo SaaS migration. This is a technical leadership role focused on solution design, build, data conversion, integrations, performance, and long-term platform stability.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical authority for Maximo SaaS architecture, configuration, and integrations.

• Lead the full lifecycle of the Maximo on-prem to SaaS migration, including technical planning, data readiness, integrations, and cutover execution.

• Design and validate SaaS architecture, security models, performance tuning, and configuration decisions.

• Ensure all Maximo modules (Work Management, Asset Management, Inventory, PM, Contracts, Supply Chain, etc.) are technically sound and fully operational in the SaaS environment.

• Support current on-prem Maximo product as well

• Configure Maximo applications, automation scripts, workflows, escalations, domains, and security groups.

• Develop and maintain integrations using REST APIs, web services, middleware, and integration frameworks.

• Lead data conversion activities including extraction, transformation, loading, validation, and reconciliation for assets, meters, PMs, locations, inventory, and historical data.

• Troubleshoot complex technical issues across environments, integrations, and customizations.

• Lead a team of 2-3 technical and functional analysts as and when required

• Assign work, review deliverables, and ensure adherence to technical standards.

• Foster a collaborative, delivery-focused team culture.

• Manage technical timelines, risks, dependencies, and cross-team coordination.

• Provide technical updates, architecture documentation, and migration status reporting.

• Lead technical readiness activities including environment setup, data migration testing, integration validation, and performance testing.

• Review and approve technical configuration, integration designs, and data conversion plans.

• Support UAT from a technical perspective, including defect triage and resolution.

• Develop technical SOPs, runbooks, and operational transition documentation.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

• Mandatory hands-on experience migrating IBM Maximo from on-premise to SaaS.

• 7 –10+ years of hands-on experience with IBM Maximo technical configuration and development.

• Deep technical understanding of Maximo modules, data structures, automation scripts, workflows, and integrations.

• Proven experience leading large-scale Maximo technical implementations or modernization programs.

• Strong experience with data conversion, ETL processes, and integration frameworks.

• Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and manage complex technical deliverables.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on delivery and operational excellence.

• Experience with Maximo Application Suite (MAS) and On prem Maximo applications

• Familiarity with cloud architecture, SaaS operations, and integration patterns.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in asset-intensive industries (utilities, transportation, facilities, government contracting).

• Experience with Agile delivery methodologies.

• Experience developing technical training materials and supporting user enablement
