Job Description

Derivatives Clearing Sales – VP/ED

Morgan Stanley’s industry-leading Derivatives Clearing team manages the clearing of Futures, Options, and Over-the-Counter (OTC) Swaps at Clearing Houses globally. Our Sales team is responsible for selling the Cleared Derivatives product set to the largest Asset Managers, Hedge Funds, Banks, Insurers, Corporates and Financial Institutions across the Americas. As a salesperson, prior sales experience in derivatives clearing is highly preferred. In this role, you will be responsible for originating new clearing mandates, identify strategic targets, and managing relationships with some of the firm’s top clients. This role requires a strategic, self-starter that can meet client demands in a fast-paced environment. 

Derivatives Clearing services are utilized by a variety of institutional client types leveraging both speculative and hedging strategies across a wide range of asset classes - including equities, fixed income, FX, and commodities. Our team works directly with clients to ensure an optimal client experience and product offering, providing clients with access to the markets and information necessary to further enhance their portfolios. The qualified candidate will be working closely with a team of professionals in the business unit as an origination salesperson.

Principal Duties:

  •   Identify and prospect new client relationships and optimize existing clearing footprintPartner across multi-asset sales and trading desks to identify and optimize revenue
  •   Drive strategic initiatives to improve the business with focus on global consistencyServe as a product expert in Futures, Cleared Swaps and Listed Options in client meetings
  •   Maintain a strong client focus, derivatives clearing industry expertise, and client sector expertise 

    Education / Experience:

    Prior clearing sales or institutional banking experience preferred
  •   Ability to manage several projects simultaneously and present updates to senior stakeholdersQuantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills
  •   Strong team-player and collaborator, enthusiastic, motivatedAbility to work autonomously; self-starter

    Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $200,000 and $300,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
