About the Role:

The IMAX Group Sales Manager is responsible for driving and coordinating group sales, private rentals, and special events for the IMAX theatre. This role serves as the primary point of contact for school groups and community partners, ensuring a seamless guest experience from initial inquiry through post-event follow-up. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, financial tracking capabilities, and cross-functional collaboration with theatre staff, museum partners, and accounting.

What You'll Do:

School & Group Sales

  • Serve as the primary contact for all group-related inquiries.

  • Schedule and book group showings; communicate details with IMAX management and relevant staff.

  • Maintain and update internal calendars to reflect all group bookings.

  • Develop and manage tracking spreadsheets to monitor group visits and collect data.

  • Coordinate and track concession orders related to group visits; communicate needs to management and staff.

  • Collaborate with museum staff to coordinate logistics for visiting groups.

  • Conduct post-visit follow-ups to gather feedback and support continuous improvement.

  • Prepare, send, and organize invoices; track payments and liaise with accounting.

  • Create and update promotional materials (flyers, PDFs) for group offerings.

Private Rentals

(Working closely with the Theatre Manager)

  • Assist in scheduling private rental events and ensure all internal calendars are updated.

  • Prepare, edit, distribute, and maintain rental agreements.

  • Coordinate concession requests related to rentals and communicate details to staff.

  • Maintain tracking spreadsheets for rental activity and reporting.

  • Issue invoices, monitor payments, and coordinate with accounting as needed.

Special Events & Community Engagement

  • Plan and manage special events, including educator screenings and interactive student programs.

  • Develop and distribute promotional emails and event materials.

  • Represent IMAX at community events and outreach initiatives.

Administrative & Operational Support

  • Manage GoCanvas surveys (internal operational checklists).

  • Prepare and issue advertising invoices as needed; coordinate with accounting.

  • Track grant funds and incoming grant payments.

  • Support additional projects and initiatives as assigned by the Theatre Manager.

What You'll Need:

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency in spreadsheet creation and data tracking.

  • Experience with invoicing, payment tracking, and coordination with accounting preferred.

  • Customer-service mindset with strong relationship-building skills.

  • Ability to represent IMAX professionally in community settings.

  • Experience working with K-12 students, teachers, and school systems is a plus

Hiring Range :

$13.00 - $19.00 (per hour) Placement within this range depends on a candidate's experience, skills, internal equity, and regional market factors. Eligible roles may also receive additional non-discretionary compensation such as shift premiums or overtime pay.
