Job Description

️ Immigration Paralegal

Location: Pittsburgh, PAJob Type: Full-Time

A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Immigration Paralegal to join its growing Immigration Practice Group. This individual will support attorneys with a broad range of employment-based immigration matters while managing multiple client cases, deadlines, filings, and communications.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys with case strategy, case review, legal research, and preparation of immigration matters.

  • Manage a large volume of client cases while tracking filing status, deadlines, and required documentation.

  • Collect and review extensive documentation from clients and foreign nationals.

  • Prepare and organize immigration applications, petitions, forms, and supporting materials for government filing.

  • Draft correspondence to clients and government agencies for attorney review.

  • Communicate directly with clients and foreign nationals regarding procedural and case-processing matters.

  • Maintain accurate and timely updates within case management and billing systems.

  • Monitor case progress and ensure clients remain informed throughout the immigration process.

  • Assist with PERM recruitment matters, including collecting information and preparing related forms.

  • Assist with adjustment of status/green card matters, including collecting client information and preparing forms.

  • Maintain organized electronic and hard-copy case files.

  • Support attorneys and other team members in managing the overall caseload.

  • Communicate case status, issues, and progress to supervising attorneys and team members.

Ideal Candidate

  • 5+ years of Immigration Law experience, preferably within an employment-based immigration practice.

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Paralegal Certificate preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of procedural requirements for immigrant and non-immigrant visas.

  • Familiarity with immigration-related laws and the ability to make sound, reasoned decisions.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent client-service and case-management skills.

  • Able to manage numerous cases, projects, and competing deadlines simultaneously.

  • Comfortable working independently while contributing to a collaborative team.

  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with case management and word-processing software.

  • Able to respond quickly and efficiently to urgent matters.
