Join J. Blanton Plumbing
J. Blanton Plumbing is expanding its Sewer Sales Division in Columbus, Ohio, and we're looking for experienced In-Home Sales Consultants, Residential Sales Representatives, HVAC Comfort Advisors, Home Improvement Sales Professionals, and High-Ticket Sales Professionals.
If you have a proven track record selling high-ticket products or services directly to homeowners, we'll teach you the sewer and plumbing side of the business.
As an In-Home Sales Consultant, you'll meet with homeowners to understand their sewer problems, present solutions, and close sales.
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting in-home sales consultations with homeowners
- Building rapport and establishing customer trust
- Identifying customer needs and sewer-related problems
- Learning and using sewer camera inspection technology
- Presenting high-ticket sewer repair and replacement solutions
- Handling questions and objections
- Closing sales during the initial appointment when appropriate
- Maintaining accurate customer and sales information
- Working with operations and production teams to ensure a smooth customer experience
We're looking for experienced sales professionals — not necessarily plumbers.
Relevant experience includes:

- Pest Control Sales
- Solar Sales
- Waterproofing or Foundation Repair
- Home Improvement or Remodeling Sales
- Plumbing or Restoration Sales
- Residential Construction Sales

- Door-to-Door or Outside Sales
- Automotive Sales
- Fencing Sales
- Other high-ticket residential or in-home sales
Previous sewer or plumbing experience is not required. We provide the technical training. What you bring is proven sales ability, confidence, communication skills, resilience, and the ability to close.
Requirements
5+ years of sales experience, preferably in residential, in-home, field, or outside sales
Proven experience selling face-to-face with homeowners
High-ticket sales experience
Strong presentation, negotiation, and objection-handling skills
Ability to build rapport and establish trust quickly
Comfortable working in a 100% commission-based environment
Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Ability to pass background and driving record checks
Ability to lift approximately 40 lbs. up and down stairs
Willingness to learn residential plumbing and sewer systems
Build on the Sales Skills You Already Have
If you've succeeded in HVAC, roofing, pest control, remodeling, restoration, solar, windows, waterproofing, or another home-services sales industry, you already have the foundation for this role.
J. Blanton Plumbing will provide the product knowledge, technical training, leads, and support to help you transition into sewer sales.
This is an opportunity for an experienced sales professional to enter a specialized, year-round home-services market without starting their sales career over.
