Industrial Electrician

Join Gerdau Steel in Petersburg, VA. We're hiring Industrial Electricians to help maintain and troubleshoot the equipment that keeps our operation running. If you have industrial electrical maintenance experience and enjoy solving problems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, we'd like to hear from you.
What We Offer
- First year earnings of $116,000/year to $125,000/year DOE which includes hourly pay of $36.73 to $41.11 DOE, bi-weekly production bonus, shift premiums, and 354 hours of scheduled annual overtime.

Schedule
- 12-hour rotating Dupont schedule
- Days and nights
- Every other weekend off
- Built-in overtime opportunities
What You'll Do
- Troubleshoot and repair motors, drives, electrical systems, and production equipment
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints
- Install, maintain, and repair industrial electrical equipment
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance
- Assist with troubleshooting hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
- Support equipment reliability and continuous improvement efforts
- Work safely as part of a highly skilled maintenance team
What We're Looking For
Required
- 3+ years of industrial electrical maintenance experience
- Experience troubleshooting motors, controls, and electrical systems
- Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work a rotating 12-hour schedule
Preferred
- PLC troubleshooting experience
- Manufacturing, steel, paper, chemical, power generation, food processing, glass, or other industrial maintenance experience
- Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics
- Welding or fabrication experience
- Experience working with cranes, conveyors, pumps, or heavy equipment
