Job Description:
This position will allow the student to assist with supporting manufacturing operations by maintaining process documentation and participating in continuous improvement activities. The student would reside and work in Plant 7, where Hydraulic Steering Gears, Pumps, and Steering Columns are produced for original equipment manufacturers.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing and maintaining plant floor layouts
- Participate in lean manufacturing continuous improvement efforts
- Conduct Time Studies
- Conduct downtime analysis
- Big data analytics and basic statistics
- Update work instructions for manufacturing operations
- Update visual aids for manufacturing operations
- Generate power point presentations
- Assist supervisor in any administrative work
- Work with dynamic operations teams to enhance manufacturing production
Required Skills
- CAD

- High level of organization
Requirements:
- Candidate must be attending a 4-year university local to Saginaw
- Candidate must be studying engineering in pursuit of a bachelor's degree
- Candidate must be able to work 20-32 hours during Fall and Winter semesters
- Up to 40 in the summer
- Must have cumulative 2.7 GPA on 4.0 scale
- Must be a full-time student (12 or more credits) during Fall and Winter semesters
- Candidate must have right to work in the US and not require current or future sponsorship
