OUR OPENING
Journey Construction is seeking an Industrial Field Superintendent to join our team in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. In this role, you'll lead onsite construction activities on industrial projects - including water and wastewater treatment facilities and related infrastructure - ensuring safe, efficient, and quality execution from start to finish.
WHAT WOULD YOU DO AS AN INUDSTRIAL FIELD SUPERINTENDENT?
- Lead daily field operations on industrial, civil, and process infrastructure projects
- Ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and according to specifications
- Coordinate concrete, structural, mechanical, electrical, and piping work
- Partner with Project Managers, engineers, and field crews to translate design into built systems
- Set the tone for safety, quality, and teamwork across the site
- Drive proactive problem-solving and continuous improvement in the field
- Oversee subcontractor performance and ensure high standards of execution
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIRED
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
- 7-12+ years of progressive construction field supervision experience
- Experience with heavy concrete structures, piping systems, and multi-trade coordination
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES NEEDED
- Strong leadership, communication, and planning skills
- Thorough understanding of construction methods and field documentation
- Ability to read and coordinate shop drawings, plans, and specifications
- Commitment to safety and high-quality workmanship
- Able to build collaboration among crews, subcontractors, and project leadership
- Proficiency with documentation tools and basic construction software
