Job Description

The Industrial Hygienist is responsible for independently conducting environmental and hazardous materials monitoring, surveying, and sampling at residential, commercial, public, and industrial job sites. This role supports projects involving water and fire damage, demolition and renovation activities, indoor air quality concerns, and reported environmental complaints. The Industrial Hygienist evaluates conditions related to asbestos, lead-based paint, microbial contamination, and other environmental health hazards while ensuring full compliance with all applicable regulations.

This position requires strong technical expertise, sound professional judgment, and the ability to work independently and accurately in the field. As a primary on-site representative of Titan Environmental Solutions, Inc., the Industrial Hygienist is expected to deliver a high level of professionalism and customer service, communicate technical findings clearly, and arrive on site within scheduled appointment times. The role requires flexibility for travel, night and weekend work, and variable job site conditions.

Titan Environmental Solutions, Inc. prefers candidates holding Certified Asbestos Consultant (CAC) credentials, though qualified Certified Site Surveillance Technicians (CSSTs) with relevant field experience are also encouraged to apply.

Requirements

  • Perform environmental and hazardous materials assessments at:
    • Residential properties
    • Commercial and private buildings
    • Public and state-owned facilities
    • Industrial sites
  • Conduct sampling and monitoring activities related to:
    • Water damage and fire damage incidents
    • Hazardous material disturbances
    • Demolition and renovation activities
    • Elevated humidity and potential microbial growth conditions
  • Perform surveys and assessments for:
    • Asbestos-containing materials (CACs may lead and sign regulated projects)
    • Lead-based paint and lead hazards
    • Mold, fungal, and bacterial contamination
    • Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) complaints and investigations
  • Evaluate client-reported environmental concerns and determine appropriate assessment methodologies
  • Independently manage assigned field projects while adhering to Titan Environmental Solutions’ surveying and reporting standards
  • Complete an average of up to six (6) limited surveys per day, depending on scope and site conditions
  • Accurately collect samples, maintain proper chain-of-custody documentation, and submit field documentation promptly after each project
  • Prepare clear, concise, and technically accurate written documentation and reports
  • Communicate technical findings effectively, both verbally and in writing, to clients, contractors, and internal team members
  • Maintain professionalism, punctuality, and a customer-focused approach at all job sites
  • Arrive on-site within scheduled appointment windows outlined in work orders
  • Follow all Titan Environmental Solutions safety policies and established field methodologies
  • Comply with all applicable state, federal, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations

Travel & Schedule Requirements

  • Frequent driving throughout Southern California to job sites and client meetings
  • Willingness to travel out of town as project needs require
  • Availability for night and weekend work, as needed
  • If a monitoring assignment extends into a weekend, the employee is expected to manage the project through completion

Required Certifications & Licenses

Required (One of the Following):

  • California DOSH Certified Asbestos Consultant (CAC)(Strongly Preferred)OR
  • California DOSH Certified Site Surveillance Technician (CSST)

Additional Required Certifications:

  • Current California Department of Public Health (CDPH) Lead Certification(Lead Monitor, Inspector/Assessor, or Sampling Technician)
  • Current NIOSH 582 Certification

Other Requirements:

  • Valid California Real ID Driver’s License with a clean DMV driving record
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Ability to pass annual respirator medical clearance and fit testing

Language Requirement

  • Fluency in English (reading, writing, and comprehension) is required

Benefits

Compensation & Pay Transparency (California Compliance)

Titan Environmental Solutions, Inc. reasonably expects to pay between $38.00 and $45.00 per hour for this position. Compensation will be determined based on certification level (CAC vs. CSST), experience, and job-related qualifications, in compliance with California pay transparency laws.

Eligible employees receive paid holidays, paid vacation, and access to group health, dental, and vision insurance, as well as a 401(k) retirement savings plan, plus any applicable state mandated insurance benefits. Holiday and vacation eligibility, accrual, and scheduling follow company policy and plan documents.
