Industrial PainterPay:$19.00$21.00 per hour(Based on Experience)Location:Pryor, OKShift:MondayFriday | 6:00 AM 2:30 PMJob Order #:151654Position OverviewStand-By Personnel is seeking an experienced Industrial Painter for a manufacturing and production operation in Pryor. This position is responsible for preparing metal and industrial surfaces and applying primers, paints, and protective coatings according to customer specifications, work instructions, and company quality standards.The ideal candidate has previous industrial painting experience, understands proper surface preparation and spray application techniques, and can identify and correct coating defects. Candidates should also be comfortable mixing coatings, maintaining spray equipment, and working with paint thickness gauges when required.Required Experience & Skills Previous industrial painting experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or a similar environment preferred Knowledge of industrial surface preparation techniques Experience with spray-painting equipment preferred Ability to mix and apply primers, paints, and protective coatings Ability to read basic drawings, work orders, and paint specifications Knowledge of proper coating application and coverage Basic math skills for paint mixing and measurements Strong attention to detail and finish quality Ability to safely work with paints, solvents, thinners, and related chemicals Reliable attendance and punctuality Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanshipEssential Duties & Responsibilities Prepare metal and industrial surfaces for painting Clean surfaces to remove dirt, oil, rust, scale, and other contaminants Sand and grind materials as required Mask and protect areas that should not receive coatings Review applicable work instructions and paint specifications Mix primers, paints, and coatings according to specifications Apply coatings using spray equipment, rollers, or brushes Maintain required coating coverage and finish Inspect completed work for defects Verify coating thickness when required Perform touch-ups and corrections Set up and maintain painting equipment Handle and store paints and chemicals properly Complete applicable production and material documentation Maintain clean and organized work areas Follow all company safety and environmental procedures Perform additional production or painting duties as assignedSurface Preparation ResponsibilitiesProper preparation is essential to achieving a quality industrial finish.Candidates may perform: Cleaning Sanding Grinding Rust removal Scale removal Oil and contaminant removal Masking Surface inspection Final preparation before coatingCoating ApplicationCandidates may work with: Industrial primers Paints Epoxy coatings Urethane coatings Other protective or decorative coatings Spray equipment Rollers and brushesFamiliarity with multiple industrial coating systems is an advantage.Paint Mixing & Application Review manufacturer specifications and work instructions Mix coatings according to required ratios Prepare materials for application Apply coatings evenly and consistently Achieve required coverage and finish Maintain applicable wet or dry film thickness Prevent unnecessary coating waste Follow proper handling procedures for paints, thinners, and solventsQuality Control ResponsibilitiesCandidates should be able to inspect completed work for defects such as: Runs Sags Pinholes Holidays Uneven coverage Insufficient film thickness Other visible finish defectsResponsibilities may also include: Using gauges to verify coating thickness Identifying areas requiring additional coating Performing touch-up work Correcting finish defects Ensuring completed products meet customer and company requirementsPainting EquipmentCandidates may work with: Spray guns Hoses Pumps Paint mixing equipment Film thickness gauges Grinders and surface-preparation tools Brushes and rollers Other industrial painting equipmentResponsibilities include basic equipment setup, cleaning, maintenance, and troubleshooting to help prevent unnecessary downtime.Documentation Responsibilities Read job travelers and work orders Follow applicable blueprints and specifications Record paint and coating material usage Document lot numbers when required Record completed job information Communicate equipment, material, or quality concerns to supervisors promptlyPreferred Qualifications Industrial Painter experience Manufacturing or fabrication painting experience Industrial spray-painting experience Epoxy coating experience Urethane coating experience Powder coating knowledge Surface preparation experience Paint mixing experience Film thickness gauge experience Experience painting fabricated metal products Knowledge of industrial coating specificationsSafety & PPE RequirementsCandidates must follow all applicable company and regulatory safety requirements, including: Respiratory protection requirements Lockout/Tagout procedures when applicable Required PPE Safe chemical handling Proper ventilation procedures Environmental requirements Correct labeling and storage of paints, thinners, and chemicals Proper disposal of waste materialsPhysical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling Ability to lift and move approximately 2550 lbs Manual dexterity required for spray equipment and preparation tools Comfortable working in noisy, dusty, or fume-generating environments while wearing appropriate PPE May be required to work at heights or in confined spaces depending on assignment Ability to safely perform physically active industrial painting work throughout the shiftWork Environment Industrial manufacturing and production environment Regular work around fabricated metal, paint equipment, coatings, solvents, and preparation tools Potential exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and industrial chemicals with appropriate controls and PPE Quality-focused environment
