Job Title: Journeyman Industrial Sheet Metal Mechanic
Location: Decatur, AL

Pay: $23-$27 per hour (DOE) + Benefits

United Trades of America is a leading industrial services provider, specializing in mechanical construction and maintenance across multiple sectors, including manufacturing, energy, and infrastructure. We're looking for experienced, dependable, and safety-oriented Journeyman Sheet Metal Mechanics to join our growing team.
Job Responsibilities:
- Fabricate, assemble, install, and repair sheet metal products and equipment (ductwork, hoods, chutes, tanks, etc.)
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications
- Use hand tools, power tools, shears, brakes, and welding equipment to cut, shape, and assemble metal
- Ensure work is performed according to company and OSHA safety standards
- Conduct inspections and perform preventive maintenance as required
- Collaborate with other trades and project managers on job sites
- Follow layout and work orders and complete tasks with minimal supervision
Requirements:
- Valid Journeyman Sheet Metal certification or equivalent experience
- 4+ years of industrial sheet metal experience preferred
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings
- Proficient in layout, cutting, forming, welding, and installation of sheet metal
- Experience working with stainless steel, aluminum, and galvanized materials
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs, work at heights, and operate aerial lifts as needed
- Strong understanding of safety procedures and PPE use
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Must pass a drug screening and background check
Preferred Qualifications:
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification
- Welding certifications (TIG/MIG/Stick)
- Experience in shutdowns, turnarounds, or heavy industrial projects
