Early Head Start Teacher – Infant & Toddler Classroom (1- & 2-Year-Olds) Union County Community Action, Inc.Work Location- Hamlet, Richmond County, NCwww.uccainc.org/careers

Union County Community Action, Inc. (UCCA) is seeking caring and passionate early childhood educators to join our Early Head Start team. This position works with 1- and 2-year-old children in a nurturing classroom environment that supports children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development while building strong partnerships with families.Starting Rate: Up to $18 per hourSchedule: Monday–Friday 7:30am-3:30pm (40 hours/week)Why Join UCCA?

  • Key Responsibilities
  • Provide nurturing care and supervision for infants and toddlers
  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate classroom activities and routines
  • Foster children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and engaging classroom environment
  • Observe and assess children’s developmental progress
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding children’s growth and daily activities
  • Conduct parent conferences and home visits as required
  • Collaborate with classroom staff and support specialists
  • Ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and licensing requirements
  • Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Infant/Toddler CDA credential preferred or willingness to obtain
  • Experience working with infants, toddlers, or preschool-aged children preferred
  • CPR and First Aid certification required or ability to obtain
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Passion for early childhood education and family engagement
  • Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening and TB test, and must submit to random drug screenings.
  • Physical RequirementsMust be able to actively supervise infants and toddlers, frequently bend, kneel, sit on the floor, lift and carry children, and move throughout classroom and outdoor environments.
