LOCATION: John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital
DEPARTMENT: Employment Plan Office
SHIFT: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on Cook County Health (CCH) policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at CCH. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
JOB SUMMARY NON-UNION
Supports the Employment Plan Officer and staff by managing requests for information. Collects, analyzes, processes and distributes information required to support the investigation of complaints of violations of the Cook County Health (CCH) Plan and Supplemental Policies, training as required under the Employment Plan, and all other auditing and monitoring functions of the Employment Plan Office. Requires a high degree of confidentiality, discretion and appropriate judgment in the course of duties.
TYPICAL DUTIES
- Supports the Employment Plan Officer and staff by managing requests for information from a variety of sources internal and external to CCH
- Collects, analyzes, processes and distributes information required to support the investigation of complaints of violations of the Employment Plan and Supplemental Policies
- Collects, analyzes, processes and distributes information required to support the Employment Plan Office's training endeavors
- Collects, analyzes, processes and distributes information required to support all monitoring and auditing activities of the Employment Plan Officer and staff
- Communicates with legal and non-legal professionals internally and externally providing general support functions
- Works with CCH Department of Human Resources to coordinate outstanding requests for information
- Tracks and monitors databases of information impacting CCH Employment Plan compliance
- Prepares reports, memos and other required documents and/or correspondence as requested
- Manages and responds to written and verbal inquiries submitted to the Employment Plan Office from a variety of internal and external sources for the purpose of providing information or referring requests to appropriate personnel
- Receives, logs and sends all complaints or any identified incidents of Unlawful Political Discrimination to the Office of the Independent Inspector General
- Schedules annual employee, supervisor and CCH Department of Human Resources Employment Plan training; tracks attendance to validate completion of training
- Notifies the Employment Plan Officer of non-compliance to any request for information
- Assists the Employment Plan Officer and staff with conducting audits of CCH compliance
- Works to meet strict deadlines, which at times will require the Information Coordinator to work additional hours or otherwise diverge from a set work schedule
- Must be able to travel between affiliates of the Cook County Health & Hospitals System as necessary to perform job duties
- Performs other duties as assigned
This position is exempt from Career Service under the CCH Personnel Rules
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree or Higher from an accredited college or university (Must provide official transcripts at time of interview)
- Three (3) years of experience in Human Resources; Employee Relations; or Finance, Compliance, or Legal departments, is required.
- One (1) year of experience generating excel reports in a compliance driven environment, is required.
- Must be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and exercise discretion and appropriate judgment in the course of duties, is required.
- Must be able to meet strict deadlines, which at times will require the Information Coordinator to work additional hours or otherwise diverge from a set work schedule, is required.
- Must be able to travel between affiliates of the Cook County Health & Hospitals System as necessary to perform job duties, is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior experience in basic legal, general and factual research, is preferred.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Access, Excel, Word and PowerPoint, is preferred.
- Previous work experience with applicant tracking systems such as Taleo, PeopleSoft or comparable systems, is preferred.

- Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills necessary to communicate with all levels of staff and a patient population composed of diverse cultures and age groups
