Information Technologies Technician

Job Summary: The Information Technology Technician monitors and troubleshoots network and server infrastructure, installing, testing and documenting network cabling, hardware and software. This employee is responsible for communicating status and alerts to all relevant departments and escalating issues to designated next-level support paths. This job involves supporting all Visit Hot Springs properties.

Specific Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Provides IT Support relating to technical issues involving Visit Hot Springs' core business applications and operating systems.
• Troubleshoots and resolves Microsoft Windows, Mac and laptop hardware and software problems.
• Installs and configures new PC hardware and software.
• Performs computer troubleshooting on various levels.
• Interacts professionally with departments exhibiting strong customer service skills.
• Maintains proficiency in Windows and Mac technical fields of expertise.
• Maintains a high level of proficiency in using helpdesk workflows.
• Tracks and maintains computer equipment inventories.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management, which could include assisting in duties that are not typical to this position.

Minimum Experience, Skills or Education Required:

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively. Must have good organizational skills, be motivated to learn, possess a strong work ethic, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Working knowledge of Splashtop or other remote desktop utilities.
• Linux, KVM, Proxmox, VMWare knowledge is a plus but not required.
• Basic working knowledge of VoIP systems.
• Basic working knowledge of networking
• Must have mathematical development sufficient to be able to compute ratio and proportion and percentages, calculate surface area, volumes, weights and measures. Must have developed language skills sufficient to read and comprehend newspapers, periodicals, journals, and manuals. Must be able write summaries and reports. Must be able to speak and write clearly.
• Must be able to determine time, place and sequence of operations or actions to be taken on the basis of analysis of data; executing determination and/or reporting on events.
• Must be able to determine or interpret work procedures for a group of workers, assign specific duties to them, and maintain harmonious relations among them. A variety of responsibilities are involved in this function.
• Must be able to understand the technologies required in the work.

• Must be able to drive Visit Hot Springs vehicles to other sites as needed.

Physical Demands: Lifting/moving items up to 50 pounds in weight. Repetitive standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and sitting. Reaching. Handling. Fingering. Feeling. Talking. Hearing. Seeing.

Working Conditions: Work is performed at various Visit Hot Springs locations including but not limited to Hot Springs Convention Center, Majestic Baseball Park, Hot Springs Visitor Center, and Northwoods Trails. Hours may consist of nights, weekends and holiday duty. Sufficient noise, either constant or intermittent, to cause marked distraction may be present
