Information Technology Intern

Job Description:

HITT Contracting, a Washington Post Top Workplace, seeks a summer intern to join our Information Technology team from May to August in the Falls Church, VA. headquarters office. This entry-level intern will be exposed to a range of functions within the IT team including, providing technical support to team members, asset management, documenting processes, and tackling special projects. The position reports to an IT team member and will be mentored/managed on a day-to-day basis by multiple members of the IT team.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to all HITT team members and leadership

• Maintain constant communication with team members and IT staff through resolution of problems

• Troubleshoot hardware and peripheral failures, such as printers, laptops, phones, etc.

• Setup and administer O365 accounts and applications

• Configure and troubleshoot IOS devices including iPhones and iPads

• Create and track trouble tickets and update progress through completion

• Provide technical assistance on supported HITT applications and network devices

• Maintain documented security protocols during every aspect of IT

• Assist with other special projects as assigned

Qualifications

• Pursing an undergraduate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field of study

• At least two years of coursework completed

• Exceptional customer service orientation

• Proven analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities

• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment

• Ability to conduct and direct research into IT issues and products as required

• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office. especially PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Adobe Acrobat

• Ability to accurately assist with maintaining IT asset inventory

• A self-starter with a can-do attitude, organized and efficient

• Willingness to go the extra mile and give even the smallest tasks a high level of attention and effort

• Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
