Location: Bristol, RI 02809Pay Rate: $19.00 $22.00/hr, paid weeklySchedule: Monday Friday, 6:30 AM 3:00 PMDuration: 3-Month Contract
Overview
The Injection Molding Operator is responsible for supporting the daily operation of the molding department, including mold setups, thermoplastic processing, basic machine maintenance, robotics operation, heat treating, curing, and quality inspection.
This position requires strong injection molding experience, technical troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to independently operate production equipment while maintaining quality, safety, and production standards.
Responsibilities
Set up and operate injection molding machines for scheduled production jobs.
Operate injection molding machines, auxiliary equipment, robots, tumblers, and packaging equipment.
Monitor and adjust machine settings, including temperature, pressure, and cycle times, and escalate production issues when necessary.
Inspect manufactured components to ensure compliance with customer specifications and quality requirements.
Complete detailed inspection plans, production records, and required documentation accurately and legibly.
Perform basic machine maintenance and support troubleshooting activities.
Follow established procedures for thermoplastic processing, heat treating, and curing.
Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S and FOD standards.
Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and environmental requirements.
Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and maintain safe work practices.
Perform assigned duties with minimal supervision.
Support additional production and departmental tasks as needed.
Qualifications
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
3 5+ years of experience with injection molding, thermoplastic processing, mold setups, basic machine maintenance, and robotics operation.
Experience operating various injection molding machines, robotics, and auxiliary equipment.
Forklift experience.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
Ability to follow written and verbal work instructions.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to maintain consistent attendance and meet production schedules.
Knowledge of 5S, FOD, and manufacturing cleanliness standards.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
