Inpatient Acute Physical Therapist

Evaluates and conducts medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs. Responsibilities: " Performs initial and on-going assessments of patient's condition. " Establishes, revises and evaluates a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient/family. " Performs therapy interventions utilizing standard physical therapy techniques and skills as appropriate for the condition of the patient. " Oversees activities of physical therapy assistants, students and other support personnel. Complexity of Work: " Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment. Personal Protective Equipment: " Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Physical Therapist in the Acute setting at Ascension St. John Medical Center, day shift, 8:30-5 Mon-Fri. Also required minimum of 2 weekend days per month, and more opportunities are available if interested. The clinician would be expected to work in a fast paced environment at a level 2 trauma center with neurological, orthopedic, cardiovascular, and oncological conditions as well as general medical. The clinician would be expected to work on all units within the hospital, which are mostly located in one tower. The clinician would be expected to engage regularly with the interdisciplinary team. This rehab department is a large team of approximately 45-50 total associates including occupational therapy and speech therapy. The team consists of approx. 8 core physical therapists, 3 core physical therapist assistants, and approximately 7 prn physical therapists and assistants. The team works closely together on a daily basis, provides real time documentation and point of service care, and uses Cerner electronic medical record. Training will be provided by the team to prepare the traveler for clinical responsibilities.
