Job Description

With state-of-the-art facilities and a dedicated team of professionals, we are poised for growth and seeking individuals that want to be a part of telling our story.The Quality & Inspection Specialist is responsible for ensuring all fabricated sheet metal parts and assemblies meet customer specifications, drawings, and internal quality standards. This role performs dimensional and visual inspections, documents results, and supports the continuous improvement of quality processes. The ideal candidate will have experience with precision measuring tools, interpreting technical drawings, and working in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment.Key Responsibilities:Inspection & Quality Control

  • Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections of sheet metal parts and assemblies.
  • Verify dimensions, tolerances, and finishes per engineering drawings and customer requirements.
  • Conduct inspections using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMMs, and other precision instruments.
  • Inspect welds, hardware installation, coatings, and assemblies for workmanship and compliance.
  • Identify and document non-conforming material (NCRs) and assist in corrective action follow-up.
Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate and organized inspection records in accordance with company procedures.
  • Complete inspection reports, first article inspection (FAI) documentation, and quality checklists.
  • Assist in maintaining calibration records for inspection tools and gauges.
  • Support the development and upkeep of quality documentation, work instructions, and inspection plans.
Process & Continuous Improvement
  • Work closely with production, engineering, and management to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence.
  • Provide feedback on recurring defects or process inefficiencies.
  • Participate in internal audits and process improvement initiatives.
  • Support implementation of root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or coursework in manufacturing, mechanical technology, or quality control preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 2–3 years in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment, with quality inspection experience.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T symbols, and BOMs.
  • Proficient in using precision measuring tools and basic inspection equipment.
  • Experience with inspection documentation and ERP/MRP systems.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 or similar quality systems preferred.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
Preferred Experience (a plus):
  • Experience in sheet metal fabrication, machining, or mechanical assembly inspection.
  • Knowledge of welding, powder coating, or finishing inspection criteria.
  • Familiarity with AS9102 (FAI) or ISO 9001 documentation requirements.
Working Conditions:
  • Production floor environments with some overlap in the office.
  • Regular use of inspection tools and exposure to manufacturing noise and equipment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods during inspections.
