If you have a knowledge and understanding of fundamentals of various types of sports and passion and experience of teaching kids, Associated Recreation Council (ARC) has a role for you as a Sports Instructor at Garfield Community Center. This is a part-time year-round role starting September 2026
Associated Recreation Council in partnership with Seattle Parks and Recreation is hiring Sports Instructor. The Sports Instructor at Garfield Community Center will lead a group of youth between the ages of 5-8 primarily in Soccer, Basketball, kickball, and Racket Sports and introduce participants to a variety of sports and athletic activities in a fun and supportive environment. The program focuses on helping youth build fundamental athletic skills while exploring different sports, developing teamwork, and staying active.

Schedule:
- Flexible weekdays, 5 hours per week (Year-round)
Sports Instructor duties and responsibilities:
- Introduce participants to a variety of sports and athletic activities in a fun and supportive environment. The program focuses on helping youth build fundamental athletic skills while exploring different sports, developing teamwork, and staying active.
- Enhance participants' skills in soccer, basketball, racket sports as they learn the fundamentals and play the games.
- Emphasize mental attitude, the importance of teamwork, how to play as a team, and the benefits of playing sports.
Sports Instructor requirements include:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Experience planning and supervising recreational programs and/or educational activities for children
Pay Rate:
Starting pay: $27.00
Full Pay Range: $27.00-$29.00/hour (Over time, the employee in this role may earn up to $37.00/hr with additional years of service)
