Position Summary: The Instructor, Medic is responsible for the development, execution, and continual improvement of SIG SAUER’s Medic training programs. The Instructor, Medic is responsible for overseeing curriculum design, Instructor development, and program evaluation. This individual ensures that all Medic training reflects SIG SAUER’s technical standards, supports evolving product lines, and meets the highest levels of instructional excellence. This position requires Instructor level experience and possesses competent firearms skills. The Instructor, Medic will work in a team environment with students and internal SIG employees from all business units, as well as the general customer base.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify, train, and mentor full-time and adjunct Medic Instructors.
  • Manage certification processes to ensure instructional consistency and effectiveness.
  • Provide ongoing feedback and support to uphold SIG SAUER Academy standards.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in medical systems and training methodologies.
  • Lead all Medic classes.
  • Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive training programs aligned with new and existing SIG SAUER protocols.
  • Ensure course content reflects current product innovations, industry’s best practices, and operational needs.
  • Work closely with Curriculum Development, Medical Oversight, Compliance, Logistics, and other internal teams to ensure training materials and documentation support program goals.
  • Maintain expert knowledge of firearms safety practices, policies and procedures.
  • Continuously assess, update, and improve Programs of Instruction (POIs).
  • Ensure training remains technically accurate, instructionally sound, and aligned with corporate objectives.
  • Broaden the program’s scope and value by supporting internal stakeholders and external customer-facing divisions.
  • Focus on expanding program capabilities while maintaining instructional relevance.
  • Establish development plans for Instructors that support continued certification and skill enhancement.
  • Represent the SIG SAUER Academy during events, conferences, trade shows, commercial sales events, and other interactions with the public. Maintain a professional image and follow standards of conduct while representing SIG SAUER at company-related events.
  • Maintain and develop Medic courses.
  • Flexibility to travel both domestically and internationally up to two (2) weeks per month.
  • Communicate effectively to leadership regarding problems and corrective action.
  • Regular on-site attendance and punctuality is a necessary function of this position.
  • May be required to work in other functional areas and/or facilities depending on business needs.
  • May be required to work overtime or alternate shifts based on business needs.
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Education/Experience & Skills:

  • High School diploma, or equivalent. Typically recommend 2 years of experience in providing training in medical response. Law enforcement or military instructor level experience preferred.
  • Must be able to clearly, concisely, and accurately convey ideas and information to others, both verbally and in written form. Expert presentation skills and the ability to speak in a public setting.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and the ability to accurately perform tasks in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask and adapt quickly to changes.

Working Conditions:

  • Regularly perform repetitive tasks.
  • Work is primarily standing (90 + % of the shift) except for lunch and break periods.
  • Shifts are 8 hours, 10 hours, and 12 hours.
  • The duties of this job normally require exposure to a typical manufacturing environment. Frequent standing, sitting, stooping, squatting, walking, and stair climbing can be expected along with frequent lifting and/or moving of tooling, parts containers, and materials up to 40 pounds.
  • Must be able to reach with hands and arms, bend and kneel frequently at a minimum of 50% of the shift, as well as undergo repetitive wrist, hand, elbow, shoulder, and ankle motions.
  • Must demonstrate proficient fine motor skills, ability to grip, reach, pull, turn, and use tools to torque fixtures in various machinery or in the assembly, machining, or testing of parts.
  • Specific vision abilities required may include close vision, distance vision, peripheral and depth perception, and the ability to focus on fine print.
  • Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where required.
  • Must comply with all work exposure EH&S training requirements and adhere to SIG SAUER Inc. security mandates.
