This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, adapting activities to different learning needs, and finding creative ways to encourage participation. You'll provide the guidance and structure that help each person explore interests, strengthen independence, and experience success—one activity, new skill, and personal accomplishment at a time.

  • Employment Type: Full-Time
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM–4:00 PM

How You'll Help Participants Thrive

Create Engaging Learning Experiences

  • Plan and lead educational, recreational, vocational, and daily living skills activities that promote learning and social interaction.
  • Adjust instructional approaches and activities to reflect each participant's abilities, strengths, and preferred learning styles.
  • Encourage participants to explore unfamiliar experiences, take part in activities, and build confidence through their achievements.
  • Maintain an inclusive program atmosphere where everyone is treated with respect and encouraged to participate actively.

Bring Learning Into the Community

  • Organize and take part in recreational, educational, volunteer, and other activities in community settings.
  • Help participants practice social skills and establish connections through meaningful community experiences.
  • Safely transport participants in agency vehicles for planned outings, appointments, and activities.
  • Encourage opportunities for individuals to become more involved in their communities and experience greater inclusion.

Support Individual Goals and Personal Growth

  • Help participants make progress toward the goals and objectives documented in their Individual Service Plans (ISPs).
  • Work with interdisciplinary team members to provide individualized, person-centered services.
  • Encourage positive decision-making and the development of everyday living skills that promote independence.
  • Use positive behavioral support strategies that uphold dignity, encourage participation, and support individual success.

Maintain Safety, Well-Being, and Accurate Records

  • Complete daily documentation, progress notes, attendance records, medication administration records, and incident reports accurately and within required timelines.
  • Follow agency procedures for participant health, safety, confidentiality, and care.
  • Observe participants' well-being and promptly communicate concerns to the appropriate supervisors.
  • Help keep program spaces clean, organized, and safe for participants and staff.

See the Difference Your Instruction Makes

Growth doesn't look the same for everyone. One participant may learn to complete a task independently, while another may gain confidence by joining a group activity, making a personal choice, or trying something new in the community.

As an Adult Day Program Instructor, you'll help create the opportunities and provide the encouragement that make this progress possible. Your work will support participants as they discover their strengths, develop useful skills, and take meaningful steps toward greater independence.
