- Compensation $42.50 - $43.50 + Full Benefits
Position Summary
Our client is seeking a skilled Instrumentation and Electrical Technician (I&E Technician) to support safe and reliable plant operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing process control and electrical equipment.
In this role, you will perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on Process Control Technician (PCT) systems, analyzer systems, and plant electrical instrumentation. The position plays a critical role in plant uptime, process safety, and continuous improvement.
This is a union position (ICWU-C Local 566-C) with a 90-day probationary period in accordance with the labor agreement. Compensation is set per the negotiated hourly wage rate.
Key Responsibilities
Safety & Compliance
- Strictly follow all plant operational, environmental, and safety procedures
- Maintain compliance with company policies, government regulations, and industrial standards
- Ensure work is performed under safe conditions at all times
- Participate in and qualify for the site Emergency Response Team (ERT)
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on:
- Process control instrumentation
- Electrical equipment
- Analyzer systems
- PCT and PAT equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical and instrumentation failures
- Execute corrective maintenance to maintain safe and reliable production
- Maintain plant uptime and operational efficiency
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Provide feedback to supervisors, planners, and engineers regarding equipment issues
- Document maintenance work and update maintenance records
- Submit maintenance activity reports after each task
- Share technical knowledge with fellow technicians
- Complete required safety training and technical certifications
Equipment & Tools
- Maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition
- Support shift maintenance coverage as assigned
- Perform additional maintenance duties during shift operations
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Vocational Technical School (Electrical/Instrumentation) OR
- Relevant electrical/instrumentation industrial maintenance experience
Candidates must successfully complete:
- Written and practical technical assessments
- Pre-employment drug screen and background check

- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Mechanical and electrical aptitude
- Communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
- Industrial manufacturing or chemical plant experience
- PLC, DCS, or process control systems experience
- Analyzer maintenance experience
- Preventive maintenance system (CMMS) experience
