Job Description

Insurance Defense Litigation Paralegal

Are you an experienced insurance defense paralegal looking for a professional and supportive law firm with low billable-hour expectations, excellent benefits, and flexibility when needed? This is an opportunity to join a collaborative legal team that values quality work, continuing education, and long-term employee success.

The firm is seeking a paralegal with at least 4 years of insurance defense litigation experience. Experience with insurance bad faith claims and uninsured and underinsured motorist matters is preferred.

Position Responsibilities

  • Support approximately 3 to 4 attorneys with insurance defense litigation
  • Manage case files, calendars, court deadlines, and litigation documents
  • Draft pleadings, correspondence, discovery requests, and discovery responses
  • Review and summarize medical records, prepare medical chronologies, and organize damages documentation
  • Assist with insurance bad-faith and uninsured/underinsured motorist claims
  • Coordinate depositions, independent medical examinations, expert witnesses, and subpoenas
  • Communicate professionally with clients, insurance carriers, experts, opposing counsel, and court personnel
  • Assist attorneys with mediation, settlement preparation, trial preparation, exhibits, and courtroom support
  • File documents electronically in state and federal courts

Qualifications

  • At least 4 years of insurance defense paralegal experience
  • Experience with bad-faith and uninsured/underinsured motorist litigation preferred
  • Strong knowledge of civil litigation, discovery, court procedures, and case management
  • Excellent organizational, written communication, and time-management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple cases, priorities, and deadlines with accuracy
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative legal team
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing professional work

This is an in-office position with flexibility when needed. The firm also offers low billable-hour expectations and a manageable structure of approximately three to four attorneys per paralegal.
