Job Details

We are seeking a senior‑level Insurance Litigation Special Counsel (off‑track) to join a sophisticated litigation practice handling complex insurance and reinsurance disputes. This role is ideal for an experienced litigator who enjoys substantive advocacy, increasing responsibility, and developing deep trial and arbitration experience.

The position offers meaningful ownership of matters, exposure to high‑stakes disputes, and the opportunity to work across all phases of litigation, with a particular emphasis on pretrial, arbitration, and trial preparation.

What You’ll Do

Handle complex insurance and reinsurance disputes through all stages of litigation and arbitrationDraft sophisticated pleadings, motions, and written submissionsPrepare fact and expert witnesses for deposition, arbitration, and trialManage and conduct expert discovery and trial preparationParticipate in arbitration proceedings and develop advocacy skills in arbitral forumsWork closely with team members to drive strategy and deliver results for demanding clientsTake on increasing responsibility in managing matters and shaping case strategy

What We’re Looking For

JD or LLM from an ABA‑accredited law schoolAdmitted or eligible for admission in New York, Washington, DC, or Massachusetts7+ years of complex litigation experienceExperience with insurance and/or reinsurance disputes preferredInterest in arbitration and trial practiceStrong legal writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skillsProfessionalism and confidence working with sophisticated clientsAbility to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environmentHighly organized, detail‑oriented, and collaborative team player
